Dermatologists recommend a mineral sunscreen such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. The older generation sunscreens with zinc oxide used to leave a thick white paste on the skin, similar to the look of diaper cream. Obagi Nu-Derm however has a thin, almost fluid consistency and just about disappears on the skin if you rub it in for about 10 seconds. There is a very faint powder scent. The special smooth zinc formula is called Z-COTE, a trademark of BASF Corp.This sunscreen is also great if you tend to have acne breakouts after wearing sunscreen, because zinc oxide is great at preventing acne. According to dermatologist Rebecca Tung,"Its main beneficial properties relative to the skin include being an antioxidant, as well as being anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. Studies have suggested that zinc may reduce acne-causing bacteria counts, and that it may also reduce sebum and oil production."

Yeah, it's expensive, but so worth it. I use this on my face and neck only. Doesn't sting your eyes, doesn't leave any residue or greasy feeling. I use La Roche Posay for my body, so this lasts a very long time with only face use.Edit: I've decided to switch to a non-nano zinc, reef-friendly sunscreen. Check out the EWG website for recommended sunscreens. Read the reviews. I settled on Badger and All Good. The All Good stick and lotion for kids is the bomb.

Lightweight, but still does a great job.

This is the only sunscreen that doesn't make me break out and I swear protects my face. I use this like a primer under my makeup. I tried other sunscreens by Obagi and they made my face oily and tender and didn't protect against the sun. This sunscreen is my only sunscreen I have used for years and I swear by it. I have used this product for many years after a doctor recommended it to me. I assume the sunscreen is effective but what i most like is the fact that it completely absorbs in just seconds. I like the moisturizing effect. I use it every morning not matter the weather or the season. Unfortunately, the price jumped by about $15 this time i ordered from getting it from Wal-Mart . com. Their price of the product jumped similarly. It is absolutely necessary for me. Horribly expensive. Not sure how long i can afford it

I like this product because it feels light weight on your skin so it doesn't block my pores. It does a good job even if I leave it on without reapplying. You do have to rub it in and make sure it is absorbed before you go outside.

This is the best sunscreen I have ever used, and I have used it for more than 10 years. I use it daily, rain or shine! Great moisturizer and sunscreen combined. No scent. No irritation. Good for both men and women
