This product has met my expectations so far.

Buyer Beware!1: Timer does not work properly2: You must spend another $20 on Remote3: Remote does not auto shut off4: Remote eats batteries Fast...even off5: Ballast Overheats goes into error mode6: Ballast will not put out as much power7: If Ballast craps out, expect no replacement8: Hydrogalaxy lied about replacements9: Unit failed January 5, 2017, May 2017 nothing10. Your money is better spent elsewhere...

Can't beat having a ballast with such low THD and built in timers that you would think could end up being an issue, but have yet to fail me. Downside is that the older version and newer version do not use the same remote. I do have to say that is a big screw up on their part not making them backwards compatible, though forgivable. You could buy a cheapo Ballast but trust me, they run very inefficiently. I touch ballasts of others and they run HOT, these have no fan and run warm to cool @ 240 volt, they do run hotter at 120Volt but a little fan and they run cool.I don't understand how anyone had bad service with Solis Tek. They have replaced 2 of my ballasts with no grief. One failed after a year, and the other had a timer issue that may or may not be related to my own power.Also, they sent me lots of goodies when they replaced them. 1 liter of Terpenez, $50 sunglasses, stickers, and more.

Honestly I don't know what the two reviewers below are gripping about. I've owned 6 of these for over 2 years and no issues. I know of a friend who bought one from HydroGalaxy and had an issue. Turns out HydroGalaxy is out of business these days, so he called SolisTek directly and they immediately exchanged his unit for a brand new one, no questions asked. Sounds like great customer service to me.From all the research I've done and personal experience, this is THE best digital ballast in terms of efficiency and brightness--and yes, ballasts do make a difference on your PAR output, even among digital ballasts... I guess Galaxy ballasts are hot now b/c Sunlight Supply brokered a deal with them for their in-fixture ballasts so there's a lot of them. Not sure why anyone would chose something else if you have the choice though.

I can't vouch for the seller but I will vouch for the product. I LOVE my Solis Tek Matrix. The unit's safety features alone have made it worth the investment. The fail-safes and auto start features are awesome and have proven themselves time and time again as indispensable features. The remote does eat batteries.. champagne problems people... give me a break though, the product is great. Built in timers and high frequency cycle output! My unit dissipates heat just fine and I run the heck out of it. FYI there is a built in hour counter (usage). I don't know what these guys issues are, but my unit has been great! I very much recommend Solis Tek products.

Bought 2. The first one has completely failed in less than a year, and the 2nd works sometimes, sometimes not. There's a waiting list for a replacement, or maybe they can scrape up a used one for you!Made in China but selling at German built prices, lol.
