However, Do not connect it to a dimmer. You would still have to use the remote for the fan. Mine is on a direct wire. Best advice, check with an electrician. Mine was put in my licensed electrician. **Q: Can it be installed without the downrod?** A: Yes.....we installed ours without the downrod and it looks great, works fine. **Q: I need one remote to control two fans in the same room. Any way to program this, or buy a remote with the same code?** A: Not sure if they all have the same code. In my bedroom I do have a wall remote that replaces the light/fan switch and it is programable so you can either control multiple fans or an individual one but you have to buy more receivers.
