Great product, but had to change PSU to 4+4 pin.
Great product, but I had to buy a new PSU since this motherboard uses the 4+4 pin for CPU power. Feature-wise it's a rich motherboard with good components and good upgrade options, best motherboard for the price.

Great board!
Works great. No issues at all, and I haven't built my own pc since the Intel P2 chip. This m/b caught my eye because it left me enough real estate to add a Corsair H60 CPU cooler with ease. The built in firewire port was the other reason I picked this up. I do music recording and my audio interface is firewire. I could've easily picked up a PCI card with firewire ports but something built in was more desirable for me. I haven't ran any stress tests, don't have any stats to flash, but it worked great out of the box and I had no compatibility issues with anything I added (FX6300 Black, Patriot RAM 1600).

Seriously Quality Control issues with this board. It's been a nightmare!
AVOID!!Please, do your research before you choose this MB. I saw the handful of positive reviews here on Amazon, and made the mistake of picking this board for a new semi-budget PC build.Components in my build:AMD FX-8320 Unlcocked CPU8GB G.SKill Ripjaw DDR3OCZ ARC 240 GB SSDWD Blue TB HDDMSI Radeon R9 270xSentey 725 watt PSUNZXT 210 White/Black caseand of course, this motherboard.Upon installing all components, I first installed WIndows 7 Professional 64-bit via DVD (downloaded directly from Digital River). After getting windows installed, I immediately started having issues inside the windows environment. I couldn't open/extract any .ZIP files, each time getting error messages about the file being corrupt or something simliar. Because of this, I was literally unable to update hardware drivers to latest versions. After allowing all windows updates to install, and no remedy, I decided to try a new install of windows. Sometimes they go bad right?2nd Install attempt from the same DVD, this time the installation won't complete, says the installation media has errors. So, i figured maybe the first install was bad because of the bad install media.3rd attempt to install windows, I installed from a USB 3.0 flash drive created with Windows 7 USB/DVD maker. This install went through seemingly fine, The next day I go to turn on PC, and windows won't load just goes to a black screen. I run startup repair, and it attempts to restore from the disc image i created, but gets errors and will not complete.4th install attempt, using the same USB stick from the prior install, this time the board won't boot from USB. Just keeps saying insert appropriate boot media. I tried clear CMOS and restore defaults, no luck. Switched back to DVD install and install goes through.Granted I haven't had to make a 5th installation attempt and I have had the PC running for 7 days now. However, in those 7 days I have had these additional issues:Multiple restores needed from disc image due to failure to boot to windows. USB Wifi adapter stopped working on day 3. Additional issues with USB devices frequently disconnecting and reconnecting. Yes I turned off all options in windows to disable power saving measures that could have been the culprit. I also disabled USB 3 from the BIOS, and even tried different USB headers on the MB for front panel USB. Issues occurr in all USB ports.I also tried installing Windows to the 1TB WD HDD to ensure the boot failures weren't just a bad SSD.Please, don't risk it with this seemingly attractive board based on price/features. Just google ASRock 970 Extreme 4 issues and look how many others are having the same problems.Look at the ASUS or Gigabyte boards and skip this one.EDIT: Just got my new Gigabyte board in today (970A-D3P) and Windows installed perfectly fine on the first attempt, and what do you know - my issues with USB devices constantly disconnecting and reconnecting are completely gone. ASRock Board confirmed faulty!

but didn't help cool it enough
North bridge was excessively hot since the product arrived. Replaced thermal paste, but didn't help cool it enough. Hardware errors from this were constant. Switched to a 990 model and tossed this junk back in the box.

Works like a charm
Works like a charm, has a lot of space for overclocking. But it's not needed. I combined it with AMD FX8350 CPU. My board came with bios P2.60

Awesome
Great board! I personally ran out of eSata slots though. It's no problem to buy an expansion slot though
