good for a year
Had these shoes for about a year now and there on there way out now, i work as an instructor and used these for my work. Any instructors out there will know that if a shoe lasts a year on the job they've done well.Sadly these shoes are pricey but they come with plenty of features that make them a great approach shoe - sticky rubber and a good edge, ive climbed on these indoor (up to 6a) and outdoor (up to VS), I'm not a great climber. They dont have goretex which is a bit of a shame but if you use them as an approach shoe that dosn't matter too much.my 2p

Best Footwear I've owned
Bought a pair when they were cheeper, put them on, have been wearing them since. Three years. Wearing them walking, working, climbing on sandstone and have only just started to go through the heel. Priced a little painfully these days but i'm doing the good old fashioned thing of saving up for a pair, i hope they dont get more expensive or i might try another brand. Most comfortable trainers ever. Thinking of trying some? Do it. If anything lasts more than a year on sandstone,to me, its worth it.

A LEGEND WITH A SHORT LIFE
I HAVE NOW OWNED 3 PAIRS OF THESE SHOES OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS. THEY ARE A COMFY WELL MADE APPROACH SHOE, THAT WORKS WELL ON THE COMMUTE, WHETHER RUNNING DOWN SLIPPERY WINTER STAIRS OR WET MARBLE FLOORS, THESE SHOES WILL STICK (YES EVEN WET LIMESTONE ISNT A PROBLEM FOR THE SOLE ON THESE BADBOYS) BUT THERE IN IS THE PROBLEM, I WEAR MINE DAILY, AND HAVE NEVER GOT MORE THAN 8 MONTHS OUT OF THE SOLE. THE REST OF THE SHOE STANDS UP TO THE DAILY TASKS OF A RIGGERS LIFE ADMIRABLY BUT THE SOLE IS ALWAYS THE FIRST TO GO, AS IT JUST WEARS THROUGH.CONCLUSION. COMFY, WELL DESIGNED, BRILLIANT HEEL SECTION, COOL LOOKS, INCREDIBLY STICKY RUBBER SOLE, SOLE WEARS VERY QUICKLY, DISCOLOUR QUITE QUICKLY ONCE YOU GET CAUGHT IN A FEW DOWNPOURS.

Great shoe untill Adidas bought them
I bought these to replace a pair which I bought a couple of years ago, which I bought to replace a pair of Meindl's, another great shoe ruined by accountants. They are fantastic cannot speak highly enough. They stick like glue to wet surfaces, so comfortable you forget you have them on. I have lived in them for the past two years. That's good news now for the bad. I have been looking to replace them for about a year now & couldn't find my size, 8.5, all sold out. I was just about to give up when I came across a pair on the net. Ordered them & received them the next day. As soon as I put them on I knew these were not the same shoe. They rub on the front eyelets on both shoes. I thought is was due to them being new, though not a problem with the old ones when new, until I compared them with my old ones. The tongue covers the eyelets & so cushions them on the old ones. On the new ones the tongue is much narrower & whilst covering the eyelets is much thinner offering little if any cushioning. I noticed the new ones are made in Korea whereas the old ones came from China. On further investigation I found that the company had sold out to Adidas which may explain why they are no longer made in China, Korean labour being cheaper still! I paid 85.00 for the originals which was plenty but worth it. The new ones are about the same but the quality is nowhere near as good. The disappearance and re-emergence was obviously due to the company sale & move from China to Korea. It is a shame because they were a bloody good shoe.

Great shoes but poor quality means they don't last...
I'm now on my fourth pair of these.1st pair: after 7 months started splitting where the toe rubber 'nose' stated coming away from the leather of the shoe.2nd pair: Shop replaced previous pair. These lasted fine3th pair: Developed a squeak with two months of light use. I could feel layers of rubber within the sole rubbing against each other.4th pair: Replaced previous pair. This pair now squelch if exposed to moisture. They're very comfy, extremely good grip but for over £90 they just aren't made very well.

Great for hiking mountain trails
Theses are great hiking shoes. They are slightly wide as I normally wear a 13b. The length is just right and with better insole and heavy sox the fit.I have hiked 7 miles the first day and forgot I had new shoes on.Lon

Pleased to start with....but then not for long
Talked to a fella at Five Ten, and he said it didn't matter if I ordered from here or them directly. He asked me what I usually wore for hiking shoes, and I told him either Merrell or Vasque. The Camp Four shoe would be the same size as either of those. And he was right on. VERY soft and comfortable. I have hi arches, and these fit just fine. Some stated that there is a small toe box. I don't feel it is. So why not 5 stars? The main reason I got them was after reading an excellent review in Backpacker magazine. According to Five Ten their shoe bottoms will stick to just about anything WET: Roots, roots, what have you. So far I haven't had them on a wet surface, but once I do, I'll update. I personally can't stand Vibram soles. They stick to nothing. I've fallen more than once in my Merrells. I will never own a pr. of shoes or boots with Vibram soles again. Stay tuned....it has to rain, sometime.UPDATE: 8/3/15.....OK, these suck. After getting wet feet on the SHT, I got heel blisters on each foot, large blisters behind my toes, I lost my right big toenail, and about to lose my left one and right pinky nail. All of this and I only did 102 mi. of the trail. Like the review in Backpacker said along with other reviewers here, the toe box could be larger. I think they even shrunk once they got wet. BUT the soles worked extremely well on the wet rocks and roots. If only my Merrells had these soles.

Poor manufacturing standards; don’t buy
As an avid hiker, I initially thought highly of this hiking shoe. It provided excellent traction, it did well on different terrain (hard packed dirt, mud, shale, etc.) & was comfortable as far as hiking footwear. But then things literally fell apart. After roughly a year of use, the sole of the shoe delaminated from the rest of the shoe (see attached photo) mid hike. Fortunately this happened on a day hike & I was reasonably close to my car. If I had been in the middle of a week long backpacking trip, I would have been screwed. I’m disappointed that a pair of $100+ hiking shoe has such poor construction & lack of durability. Five ten please work with Adidas and improve your manufacturing standards.

A very good light boot for field work and hiking
As a forest scientist, I spend my life in my boots. On average, I go through 2-3 pairs per year. Today, I received my first pair of FiveTen Men's Camp Four Hiking Shoe and they are very comfortable. i like sticky-soled approach shoes for tree climbing and rock scrambling, but it is very hard to find approach shoes in my size (14). These fit the bill very nicely. It remains to be seen how they wear over the next year. Typically, I buy 2 pairs of boots and alternate them so they don't get too funky. Compared with other boots I've worn in recent years, these are lighter in weight, flexible but with good support, and comfortable right out of the box. The laces go almost to the toe, so it was fairly easy, with a few minutes of effort, to get the right fit in the toe box.
