Install correctly- not apparent
I just bought the valve replacement kit and installed because the handle finally broke after 8 years. I today realized that I installed this gasket kit incorrectly - I don't recall that there were specific instructions how to do so correctly.Instructions: of course remove the bolts and nuts and pull apart. These replacement gaskets should not be fitted initially to the valve but rather the other mating surface. They stretch around the raised lip. Reassemble carefully with the bolts and nuts. Hand tighten Criss Cross fashion all bolts and then tighten securely.
