Review: Perfect thermostat for baseboard heat!!! - This thermostat is not for wall heaters!!!! These are highly accurate sensitive thermostats that actually "throttle" the electrical output to the heater so it isn't full on or off to help keep the room at a very constant temperature! They work amazingly well!!!!!! I think there are 5 heating levels. Best unit I have ever used! They are meant to control one heater only. If you have the need to control more then one heater connected to a single thermostat, there is another made by Honeywell for that purpose and it works the same way as well, plus it is lighted. They really need to describe these units better! Many are returned because people buy them for wall heaters, and they will not work for that due to the fan motor.

I also like how they regulate the temperature by sending varying levels of power to the heater unit rather than a strictIy on or off funtion. I am not a fan of the old knob ones. This was easy to install. Just make sure you disconnect the power before working on replacement. I am very pleased with the value of the thermostat.

**Q: What is minimum temperature you can set?  I want to use it in a chicken coop and set to about 40 to 45 F.**
A: I was able to lower the target temp to 41 degrees F on the one I have.

**Q: I'm going to be real specific on this cause I don't want to purchase and have to return. I just looked at the old thermostat I have on my wall now. The wires are 2 black and 2 white. hot and ground from the panel to the therm and than hot and ground to the base board. Is this thermostat wiring the same way ? Thanks**
A: I don't know much about the wires but my old thermostat had 4 wires and this one just had 2 wiresI know it's 220 but had an electrician hook it up

**Q: What is the max kilo watt rating**
A: From the instruction manual:  Maximum load: 14.6 A (resistive only) or 3500 W @ 240 VAC or 1750 W @ 120 VAC.  So to get kilowatts, divide the watts by 1000.  Most electric baseboard heaters run on 240 volts, so the maximum would be 3.5KW at that voltage.

**Q: I installed these with existing wall cadets and they make the heater click on click off click on vlick iff once its to setting temperature.**
A: They are not designed for use with forced air heaters. They cycle on and off when the temperature is near the set point. This keeps the temperature close to the set point. This works great with baseboard heaters.

This thermostat is not for wall heaters!!!! They really need to describe these units better! Many are returned because people buy them for wall heaters, and they will not work for that due to the fan motor.

I really like these thermostats. So much so I replaced all of them in our house. I really like being able to see the actual temperature and be able to set it accordingly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works fine - could be improved

I'm pretty happy with this thermostat -- no more bending down to turn the rotary dial control on the baseboard heater in my basement, which I would sometimes forget to turn off and leave on for days at a time. No more wondering if I should crank that dial up half way, or all the way, or what the temperature really is. This Honeywell unit is well-made, simple to operate, and solves all those problems. Still, I wish they'd added a couple of features. It's unfortunate that the LCD that provides the temperature readout and is used to set the temp does not light up -- my basement is rather dark, and reading the LCD is an issue. It would also have been nice if one could simply turn the thermostat off. There are times when I might not be using my basement for a few days, and there's no need to turn on a baseboard heater. But this unit is always on, so the only solution is to set the temperature low enough so the heat won't be able to kick in. I didn't want the complexity of a programmable unit, but I'd have happily paid a bit more if Honeywell had provided a few more features.
