Poor quaility product
The item was only used about 7 times. The milk was never hot enough on any of the 3 functions. The product then stopped working.Very disappointing for a Krups product. Do not buy this product.

Great unit once you have learned how to use it to your liking!
I purchased the Krups XL200011 to replace the milk frothing unit in my fully automatic expresso machine as the steamer was not working as well as it used to and was too expensive to fix. I did not have high expectation for the Krups Milk Frother to start with'When I received the unit I was disappointed at first. It did produce a decent froth but half of the milk remained liquid and only 50% became froth. However, after several trial and errors I found the way to make it work to my liking. I only use the left button and pour milk to the lower mark. I found that the trick to get a good mix of milk and froth is to agitate the Krups unit in a circular horizontal motion 3 or 4 times once the unit stops, after taking it off its base. This mixes the left over liquid milk with the froth and creates a smooth textured milk froth which can be poured on the coffee without almost any liquid poured at the same time, barista style, and that's the way I like it. With this method I have enough froth to make two 6 oz cappuccini. When I only need one cup, I only pour the milk so it just covers the plastic agitator and use the left button again.I have not tried the 2 other buttons as I read in the manual that the ratio of milk to froth is worse with those 2 options.Based on my experience, I do not miss my over $1000 automatic coffee machine steamer anymore! On the negative part, the machine I received had a split plastic agitator (a small crack underneath the disk), so it pops out from the shaft from time to time. I have written Krups Canada and am waiting for a reply. I will update this review once I know if they will replace the disk under warranty or not' to document whether or not they have good service! The transparent plastic cover is very hard to remove if you insert it normally. If you just gently drop it on top of the unit without pushing down, there is no spill and it is easy to remove. To avoid damaging this agitator disk which seems a bit fragile, I suggest rinsing the unit first, then pouring hot water with a tiny dash of liquid soap and turning the unit on for a few seconds. The agitation will clean underneath the disk without having to remove it. Then rinse again and pour some clean water (covering the disk) and run the unit a few more seconds, then dry. This method thoroughly clean the unit without having to remove the agitator disc' Besides the small plastic disc, the unit is extremely well built and sturdy and should last a long time.In conclusion, after a short period of trial and errors, I found the way to make a perfect froth with this little unit. It is well built and sturdy. However, the little plastic agitator disc seems to be the weak part of the system and I suggest not removing it on a regular basis for cleaning to avoid possibly breaking it, as it is easy to clean it without removing it. Now that I know how it works, I would buy it again without hesitation.UPDATE: It took a while for Krups Canada to reply to my request for exchange of the cracked plastic propeller disk as they had staffing problems. I received an email today indicating that they are sending me a free replacement. So all is good!Should you need to order a replacement white plastic propeller at some point, the part number is 0697116. Based on this service experience, I am pleased of the outcome of my under warranty request and I continue to recommend the purchase of this great little Frother!2nd UPDATE: Many people, including myself, find that the lid is hard to remove. The culprit is the large O-ring around the rim. This O-ring is really only needed if you use the 3rd position button, the one you use with the most milk in the unit. It is also the position which produces the least froth to milk ratio, so I always use position 1 or 2, never 3. Therefore, I removed the O-ring (and saved it, just in case). This makes the lid extremely easy to put and remove and there is no spilling at all! So, if you don't use the 3rd button, you can safely remove the large O-ring and it will make your life much easier!

Holy Cow! It works GREAT !
I know...I shouldn't review something the very first day that I own it, but this is special! I have tried to steam milk into existence as cappuccino foam for YEARS and it NEVER worked. So I bought this beautiful little gadget -- by the way -- it's only 6 and a half inches tall as it sits on its electrical connector. I poured in 2% milk (not the zero fat milk that my steam foamers required, and I pushed the cappuccino button and in about a minute and a half the thing stopped and I took off the lid AND THE MACHINE WAS FULL UP TO THE LID WITH HOT, FIRM MILK FOAM. I spooned this into two cups that had some leftover strong morning coffee (sumatra -- good stuff) and a little sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon and WE HAD THE BEST TWO CUPS OF CAPPUCCINO since the last time we were in Starbucks. This Krups (made in France) XL2000 Milk Frother is WONDERFUL ! I promise that after I've had the thing for a year or so that if it gives trouble or breaks I'll say something in this review but for right now I heartily recommend it!. 3rd Day:It's EASY to clean. Just run water into it. The inside surfaces have a finish that is particularly resistant to stuff sticking to it. The finish appears to be in the metal itself and not an applied plastic. The milk doesn't scald in it so you can wipe the inside with a paper towel and all is clean. My 2% milk gives me a good foam that I can pour out of the machine instead of having to spoon out firmer foam. I haven't tried skim milk in it. Skim milk would probably make firmer foam but I like what I'm getting.

This milk frother worked well... for the time it worked and broke after 3 months (I've used it about 20 times). The electronic circuit is poor quality and the construction seems pretty cheap for a product of this price. I would recommend a better quality like Nespresso.

Boy was this a good buy!!!
This has simply transformed our home coffee drinking experience!!!This is very simple to use and easy to clean, simple pour in the desired amount of milk, press one of the three buttons, and a minute or two later you have the froth you like.We found that using SKIM milk provides the best/thickest Froth. We simply fill up the Krups with the minimum amount of milk, which is enough to cover the spinner inside and press the button on the left, then make a half cup of instant coffee, mix the two, put some cinnamon on top and viola!Excellent buy!

Great little gadget, makes it easy for me to get my calcium!
This was a mother's day gift for me, and I am loving it. I am not a big fan of coffee for coffee's sake, but I love a latte. Now I can dress it up at home and not pay $5 to Starbucks. It's smaller than I expected, looks like a jumbo beer stein. I tried to do two hot chocolates from the largest setting, but it's just not enough--great single serve options though. The large setting is about 10 oz, and you get less foam because there isn't room for it (10 oz doesn't leave much space at the top). The medium setting is about 6 oz and has a beautiful amount of foam.I love that it is a sturdy, apparently well-made appliance. It is very heavy for its size, and has a top quality non-stick coating inside. It's easy to clean, as long as you do it right away. I rinse it, and wipe it out with a paper towel. My only concern is a little plastic piece at the bottom that pops off for cleaning. It's the "moving part" that whirrs the milk through to aerate it. It fits well and looks fine, but I am afraid this may prove to be the weak link over time. That said, this has a two-year warranty, which is way better than most small appliances.I bought a chai latte powder at Second Cup (yum) and I have Starbuck's mocha powder(double yum) and some caramel syrup (still yum). Tonight I just had warm milk with a little vanilla extract. My 10 year old, who refuses to drink milk, has started having hot cocoa in the morning (yes, even in May) and she looks forward to a cup of milk now. I am loving that I can make a healthy fat-free treat that is real comfort food.
