**Q: Is it harder to push than the 8-slice one? I have that one and it's a bit dull now but I still love it**
A: I have the 16 slicer, and I think it is harder to cut than the 8 slicer. There are twice as many blades, so twice as much resistance. I found it hard to push through on my kitchen counter, but it is easier on the kitchen table, which is lower. I can really get my weight into it!

**Q: What is the diameter of the central corer?**
A: Oops sorry didn't understand the question.  Yes the center circular core/pit remover is exactally one inch in diameter.

**Q: Anyone know where the apple slicer is made?**

**Q: How do you sharpen the blades?  Ours seems to have worn over time.**
A: Hi Monica! You might (stress 'might') be able to find a knife sharpener that could work but the product was not designed with sharpening in mind. We are constantly working to make sure the product we deliver lasts a long, long time and I've sent your note along to our design team to do another quality check on the blades for the Thin Apple Slicer & Corer.

I bought the PrepWorks Dishwasher Safe Apple Slicer and Corer – 16-Slice Thin Apple Cutter with Safety Cover after our old slicer's handle finally gave out. This one looks almost identical to the last one we had, which lasted a few years, so I figured it was worth a try. With the 13% discount, the price felt more than fair for what you get. The first time I used it, I was happy with how cleanly it cut through a firm Honeycrisp apples. You do have to press down with steady pressure, especially on larger apples, but once it goes through, it makes a satisfying crunch and leaves you with 16 even, thin slices. That’s honestly my favorite part. The thinner pieces are perfect for our toddlers. They’re easier for little hands to hold and safer to chew. I’ve also used it to prep apples for pies, and the uniform slices bake evenly, which saves me time. It feels sturdy in your hand, and the safety cover is a nice touch when it’s in the drawer. Cleanup is simple. I’ve run it through the dishwasher several times and it comes out spotless. If I had one small complaint, it’s that very large apples, like some of the cosmic crisp, won't fit. But overall, it’s a solid, practical tool that does exactly what we need it to do.
