Use scissors when dry, or hand-shred into fluff and stuff into seedling cells. *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2021* The stuff works great! I agree it falls apart, but who cares so long as it works? When it fell apart, I was disappointed, but then when the seeds sprouted, I was happy. So I ended up just filling the bottom of my seedling cells with a mixture of planting mix and vermiculite. Then I ripped up this wet spongy stuff up and sprinkle it evenly over the soil. If you want them to keep their block shape, you have to use a pair of scissors and cut the blocks while they are dry. Do not try to tear them by hand unless you are going to rip them into fluff. For those tiny seeds, the ones that look like black pepper, I make sure the cell is filled close to the top. For bigger seeds, I leave a little room on top to sprinkle extra soil over the seeds. Then it turns to mush. I tried it anyway and my seeds rotted. Peas, Snap peas, cucumbers, catnip, marshmallow. 90% rot. Trying to squeeze it all back together because it falls apart like cheap toilet paper exposing the root system. I should have read the reviews before buying. The reviews are consistent. I rarely post negative but this stuff is really bad. Breaks apart and turns to powder. Zero value for money.
