Samsung BD-J6300 Streaming 4K Upscaling 3D Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player Bundle includes Blu-ray Player, Tmvel HDMI Cable

This might be the first review on the new Samsung BD-H6500. I gave it 5 stars despite an incorrect photo of the back of the product. I previously have an older Samsung BR 3D player which went south after the FW update as it wouldn't play a movie all the way through, and some movies would't play at all. With this one, the player was very simple to install and setup. FIRST THING is, the back requires a Digital Audio Cable and NOT a Digital COAX Cable as the photo shows. So, I wasted $6.99 on getting the Coax Cable and not needing it. In any case, the picture quality is awesome with the up-scaling capabilities. My first movie I tested was a 3D BR movie and although I do not have a 3D TV, it was like if I had had the glasses it would have been popping I think as it was popping for what it could do w/o a 3D TV. The color upscale was fantastic. Loading the movie was quite quick and the play was very smooth. I just got this yesterday so I still need to give it time to see if there are any tweaks or unforeseen issues. Another great thing is it does have a screen display on the unit itself which is hard to find these days w/o going to a Yamaha or high end expensive player. Lately, for the price, this is an awesome player with all the extra features one could really ask for and sturdy. Not like other BR or even DVD players that are just simply plastic light and feeling. I hope this helps... I am very pleased with it so far. I used it for,as I mentioned a 3D BR movie, checked out a movie on Netflix stream, which was great, and also regular TV HD. All played great, color awesome, and my sound system even sounded better than ever!!!!

I had waited forever to buy a video player. I finally decided that I wanted to use my workout DVD's and so I had to do something. This player is great! I am so happy I got it. It integrates with my other Samsung components, connected up to the internet pretty easily. I went to an address last night on the player and it played a video perfectly. It plays my discs nicely too. My only wish is that when using a mouse with it, that it would have the same functions when playing a DVD, but that is minor. It was easy to set up, my Samsung TV recognized it, and after it updated a few times and I created the Samsung sharing account I was good to go. It probably took me 2 hours simply because I wanted to check out all the bells and whistles it has. I mean you can do email, Facebook, You Tube, DVD's. I am very happy at this point, it's functioning well and very reasonably priced for all of it's features.

I found it easy to set up. The internet connection was no problem. Netflix worked fine. I used the web browser to watch a PBS show and that worked fine as well. DVDs worked fine. The picture was clear. But it wouldn't play blu-rays. I tried two movies. It wouldn't play the extras on the first disc. The second movie wouldn't play at all. I had to return the player.The menu shows that there are options to pick a keyboard, but when selected, it says it is not available. A keyboard would be nice, especially with the web browser.The remote's TV buttons work only with a Samsung TV. The play/stop/fast forward/rewind buttons glow in the dark which is nice.It's frustrating that it did not work, but I think it would have been a good player if the blu-ray worked.

I absolutely hate this DVD player. Here is a list of annoying things I’ve had to deal with in no particular order. My apps are not customizable. If you add an app you have to go to the Samsung app landing page to find it. The lag time between switching apps is long. There are buttons on the remote control that don’t function. I lose my connection when streaming. The DVD manual buttons are flush on the player and difficult to see. The screen size inexplicably stretched and I cannot resize it (even when I return it to factory settings). POS

I have an OLDER Samsung TV that's at least 10 years old. My trusty $40 DVD player, purchased from K-Mart ages ago, was starting to show signs of senility. Good excuse to start buying my DVDs in "Multi-Format" to begin acquiring a small collection of Blu-ray discs, looking forward to upgrading my DVD player when the time was right. After reading countless product descriptions, plus ALL of the Q&A's and Customer Reviews, I realized that I needed to up-grade to a player that was VERY SIMPLE and VERY BASIC, with no Big Upgraded functions (such as 3D capability. I was afraid my TV would explode trying to manage that feature). This Samsung Blu-ray player is Great! For me, it was EXTREMELY EASY to set up and get going. I played one of my (so far never before viewed) Blu-ray movie discs and couldn't believe the difference in picture quality from my old DVD player. This is probably the greatest improvement for my eyeballs since I had cataract surgery a couple years ago ; ) !!!I really want to say THANK YOU to those of you who answered Questions which pointed to the original LOCATION SETTING and possible problems affecting Playback. I was able to play one Blu-ray movie, and a DVD movie that was upgraded to an amazingly clear and precise picture. When I tried to play one of my "newer' Blu-ray movie discs, the player displayed a message to the effect of "This type of disc cannot be displayed". Fortunately, I had scrutinized ALL of the Q&A's (for many players) and had noted in the back of my mind that a new Blu-ray player "might" arrive with a Location Setting for Europe (or anywhere outside the US). Easily located in the Main Set-up Menu, I selected Time Zones, adjusted the Global Map for my location, and, wow!, my movie played! Thank you Amazon customers and sellers who responded to those questions regarding setup. Without your assistance I would have been bonking my head against the player's box, discouraged and unhappy, you betcha! : (Just one CON: this player arrived WITHOUT an HDMI cable, even though the product information says it comes WITH an HDMI cable AND a cleaning cloth. I Chatted with Amazon Customer Support, saying I don't know one cable from another and wasn't sure what to purchase. Fortunately, Kiran located the correct cable for me, and kindly credited my account with $ to cover the cable. Just one more reason to shop here at Amazon.com. The Customer Support is incredible and dependable enough for me to know that any problems will be quickly resolved.I Highly recommend this Samsung Blu-ray player! If you're looking for something "simple" in its capabilities, and especially for someone who might feel slightly intimidated by the latest Electronic devices. Set up is very easy! Picture quality is precise, sound is just great. I found the Remote a little wonky to work with, and I'm still not sure if the Remote doesn't do what I want it to do, or, if I'm not pushing the correct buttons. I have yet to use the internet/app features included with this player, but I'm sure it will be surprising and fun!
