A: When making sauerkraut i dont usually use weights in the vessel. Instead i use the outer leaves of the cabbage to cover the packed cabbage and brine completely.

**Q: Are the dimensions of the "Wide Mouth" lid equal to that of a wide-mouth Mason jar?**
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The lid is much larger then the wide mouth Mason jar. The wide mouth jars are approximately four inches wide.

**Q: Where is the one gallon mark on these fermenters**
A: There are no marks on the glass jar

**Q: How do you use the airlock device?**
A: Fill the bubbles with sanitizer water to the lines and stick it in the hole.  That’s it.  CO2 will escape and nothing will be able to enter.
