Mediocre sound. Mind-numbingly awful controls - especially at 6am!
I returned this clock for two reasons. The sound was mediocre. It was kind of hollow and distant. Coming from an older Boston Acoustics clock that I'd used for at least a decade (it had reached the end of it's life), I was disappointed. I could have lived with the sound, but the controls were far too complex to manage at bleary-eyed early morning moments, or during late night alarm-setting. You need to click through layers of settings just to set the alarm time and radio station. It's a process if you want to change your wake-up time. There are no simple +/- buttons to change the hour and minute settings. There is also no simple on/off to activate the alarm. I gave the device a good try but just couldn't come to trust it. I'm giving it two stars, but, frankly that's a bit generous.

Out-freaqing-standing
All I wanted was an accurate, dual alarm clock with a battery backup and adjustable brightness that could synch via Bluetooth to play music. I wouldn't have thought that my alarm requirements were all that special, but for some reason it's been insanely difficult to find what I was looking for... until now. Soundfreaq's device does everything I want and more. It's modern, sized right, incredibly easy to setup and use, and has amazing sound for such a small device. Even the FM radio sounds great, with three different equalization settings. User controls are very well designed and intuitive. You can set the alarm for weekdays only, weekends, or any day you like and wake to radio, Bluetooth music, or buzzer alarm (which the Bluetooth will default back to if your phone or music device is offline). The sounds starts off quiet and gains in intensity until you shut it off (or hit the sleep button), with the user determining the maximum sound level. Similarly you can set the brightness of the display to virtually anything you like, including shutting it off if you can't sleep when there's light. The line in and USB charging port are incredibly useful. Truly, the whole package is dang near perfect. In fact, the only additional feature I wish it had was separate buzzer tones for the two alarms, but I can live without that. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase.Update: I've been using this device for 3 months now and like it even more than when I bought it. It's continuing to work flawlessly and keep perfectly accurate time. The sound quality remains excellent and setting, changing, and turning either or both alarms on or off is a breeze; none of the controls have locked up or broken down with use as I've experienced with other brands. Hands down, it's the best alarm clock I've ever owned. And, it's got damn fine sound too. If it ever gives up the ghost I'd buy it again with no reservations.

Great Sound - Missing a few features for the price
My old alarm clock worked fine, but only had one alarm. I went looking for a new alarm clock with dual alarms and good radio reception and sound. I've been using my cellphone's alarm, but am not excited about sleeping close to my phone night after night. After doing some research, I decided on the black Sound Rise from Soundfreaq. I've had it for almost two weeks. For its size, the sound is very good. The feature set is good, modern and simple enough to use. I, along with other reviews, wondered why at this price point it does not have an auto-dim feature for the display. For me, the lowest visible setting is great for a dark room, but useless during the day. The next higher setting is great for the day, but too bright at night. Having the ability to select between two brightness settings that are chosen automatically based on the amount of light in the room would make this alarm clock fit its price point better. The snooze buttons is easy enough to find in the dark. The alarm off buttons are relatively easy to find in the dark. The other buttons all feel the same and take a bit of experimenting to find the right one without getting up to look at the clock. Differentiating between the buttons somehow would take this clock to the next level. I suspect it was a cost savings issue. The FM reception is great if the included antenna wire is vertical up the wall (does not look nice in the bedroom). I may be old fashion, but I do miss the AM radio - although the Bluetooth connectivity is useful and more modern. I would not pay $20 more for different fabric color options (you can add your own with a little effort to customize it if you want). Oh - the alarm chime is a pleasant tone and has a volume adjustment. The nap alarm is nice too.Buy this if you want a much better sounding clock radio and want to get away from using your cellphone.

Love the look AND the way it works!
I searched extensively for a new clock/alarm. (My kittens can walk/sit on my old one and easily change the alarm & time if they step on buttons.) This one works almost exactly the way I'd choose and I LOVE the look of it. I think the design is much better than any of the other clocks I looked at and tried. We're very happy with the new clock!I thought what I wanted was simple... an alarm that could wake me with my iPhone and either connect through the USB cable or bluetooth with TWO ALARMS. This proved a lot more difficult than I thought - especially when I factored in not wanting a clock cats could walk on and easily change.I LOVE this alarm. It works great, it's easy to set, and I can even turn the clock display completely off at night - it will turn for a second or so if I hit any button and automatically turns on for the day when the alarm is turned off - that's PERFECT for me.The only things I would change about this if I could are these:1. I would allow the clock to sync with the iPhone's clock every time it connects via bluetooth, so you don't have to set the clock's time when the time changes, etc.2. I would allow a default brightness to be set. When the brightness turns on for the day, it's about the middle setting. I keep it on the dimmest all day and have to turn it down a couple settings each day to get it to the setting I want. This only takes a couple seconds, so it's not a big deal.

Sehr zufrieden!
Wer will schon Flutlicht beim Schlafen ???

Super Teil, klare Kaufempfehlung!
