This plant is an erect annual plant/shrub that can grow up to 6 feet high. The leaves are oval. The flowers are solitary with yellow petals on the axils. The fruit is a capsule with many black seeds. Harvest 30-60 days. World-wide, Saluyot is also known as Jute Leaf, Jew's Mallow, Nalta, and Bush Okra. It flourishes especially well in warm and humid areas and requires minimal care in cultivation. Growing instructions: Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep in row about 10 to 12 inches apart. Press the soil firmly over the seeds and keep moist to ensure germination. When seedlings are about 3 inches tall, thin so that the plants remain at 4 inch intervals.
