Fabulous fun!
This was the most fun birthday gift Ever given to an 8 year old. It was pretty easy to put together after watching the video. The kids (3 8 yr olds got 3 different birds) jumped up and down and flew their birds for the rest of the evening. They were laughing every minute! Everything worked perfectly. Even the putty was color coded to the bird, so the controllers didn't get mixed up. This is a wonderful and fun product that I'd recommend without hesitation.

As bad as the red one
The idea is fun, but the quality is junk. I'm happy I didn't spend much. Please do not get this if you have small children.

Can I give this less than 1 star?
I was really looking forward to this air swimmer for my son for Christmas. The first one we received did not work. My son had a toy for Christmas that did not work. I believed that it was probably a fluke. I sent it back and requested a second swimmer. Unfortunately it also did not work. I was really unhappy as was my son. We both had high expectations that fell flat.

one time use - novelty
Fun but not very practical. It needs a very large space for flying. We took it to a gym for my daughter's sixth birthday party which was an angry birds party. The kids took turns flying around. After the party there was not really room in our house to use it.

Not quite what I expected
I probably didn't read the item information well enough, but the price was fantastic. I purchased two for a child with CP since she could operate the remotes and enjoys these with the rest of the family. You need a tank of helium to fill the swimmers. Easily enough obtained, but I was a bit surprised by that. By purchasing two of them, they had a great time flying them around and battling each other.

Awesome gift for ANY age group
We bought these airswimmers for a number of kids in our family and have never failed to get an "AWESOME!!" from just about every recipient. Most of the time we have the parents wanting to play with them more than the kids. We first bought the shark for our newphew--a little more complex on the assembly, but absolutely worth it. These angry bird editions are much easier to assemble by far--the shark must have taken 40 minutes and the birds must have only taken 10--as it says on the box. Here are a few useful tips from our experiences:1. It's cheaper to blow them up at an Albertsons than a Ralphs.2. More than 2 in a room and the remotes will get confused. We discovered this upon presenting 5 birds to an excited bunch of our nieces and newphews, only to scramble to figure out who was controlling whos, and having to seperate them because some controllers were controlling two birds. To remedy this we had them fly their birds within their own spaces a certain distance apart.3. Don't leave them in your car, regardless of how hot or cold it is. Because we wanted to present these already blown-up and assembled on Christmas, we had to have them blown up on Christmas Eve, incase there weren't any stores open on Christmas Day. Without anywhere else to hide them, they had to be left in the car. We hoped they would be okay for a night considering another reviewer had mentioned a bird had lasted them almost 2 months in normal room air, but they did lose a noticeable amount of helium in the span of a day trapped in our car like that.4. Keep a string on them for younger children so they are easier to retrieve if you have any problems bringing them back down or they are just getting used to working them.5. Each remote uses 4 alkaline batteries that will usually last for an hour of active flying6. Of the 5 or 6 birds that we blew up, one of them had a leak.7. If you purchase all colors, don't freak out that the only bird that has actual wings is the red one. We didn't know this because we've never played the actual game and frantically searched for wings when assembling the blue ones. I don't know why they only have the wings for the red one, but apparently that's just how they're made, or are in the game--according to one of the kids.Reasons we loved these:1. Unique and innovative gift--a flying remote controlled angry bird??? Hard pressed to find a kid (or adult) who wouldn't enjoy playing with one. We highly reccommend the flying shark as well, but that one can be scary for a toddler--we learned that the hard way :)2. High entertainment value for the cost.3. Easy controls and auto control option for novice users.4. Pretty good quality, again for a very fair cost, especially for a licensed product.

for all ages
I bought one each for my four kids, ranging in ages 9-19, and they all loved it! I love watching them 'swim' around the room. They're pretty big, almost 3 square feet, which adds to the spectacle. They will leak, but helium eventually leaks out of every container it's put in, so helium is a continuing cost. They were a bit tricky for the kids to put together--the 16 and 19-year olds assembled them--and they required a few moments learning curve, but overall, an excellent toy, for any age. I would definitely buy these again.

My son loves it!
Purchased for my 9 year old, he loves it. Also it says it doesn't really work above 6,000 feet and we are right over that, but it works fine, we just left off the little plastic disk that goes where the foam pad is.
