Not wide enough unless you sew them together. The fabric is stiff and feels like outdoor umbrella fabric. Here is my take. No, these are not the 100% cotton of genuine quality African prints. For this price, of course not. Those would be four times more expensive. You aren't making clothing with fat quarters. These are either 100%poly or a blend. Colors and prints are terrific. Yes you could quilt with these, you will want to finish the edges and gently remove the remaining wax just as you would prewash cotton. But don't expect a cotton like finish - they aren't cotton. Not priced like cotton. I suspect made in Asia for cheap cheap. These are most appropriate for small bag projects etc. Of course, fat quarters - bonus, the remaining wax (if you don't remove it) helps with structure and gives a bit of water resistance.
