In tanks, you have to have the kind of bacteria that changes ammonia into nitrate, which is why we use stability if we are deficient of that. I use pristine one month per year for a deep clean. **Q: Is this ok to use with invertebrates? I have freshwater aquarium shrimp.** A: I have a freshwater planted aquarium with shrimp and have used Pristine for several months with no problems. **Q: What is the difference between this and Prime effectivity wise? I currently use Prime and have film and a generally nasty tank.** A: Pristine is a bacteria that helps break down the gunk in the tank. Prime is a chemical that removes chlorine and detoxifies ammonia in tap water. I added pristine to my tank 2 weeks ago and I've noticed that the nitrates have reduced and there is no longer a film on the water surface. **Q: Will this eliminate all the fish poop and food stuck in the gravel bed?** A: For that you can use Peroxide fond at pharmacy. 30mg per litter will break down fish poop and any organic material including algae.
