Makes Fantastic Rich Moka Coffee!
I am very pleased with the quality of this Moka pot...and even more so with the Moka that results. Mine arrived in great shape with instructions, and Alpha emailed instructions as well. If you have used a Moka pot before you probably do not need instructions. Be sure to fill the bottom water chamber only to just below the pressure valve (almost exactly 12 ounces). Fill but do not tamp down the coffee chamber, and remember to put in the nylon gasket and screw everything down tightly. I appreciate the included extra nylon gasket.Moka coffee tastes smoother and richer to me than drip. Unlike drip coffee it the brewing takes place under moderate pressure which gives it a deeper more complex but not bitter flavor I think. I understand Moka pots are extremely popular all over Europe. I hope everyone in the U.S. gets a chance to try this great way to make coffee. I have a big 14 ounce mug, so I brew a full pot, pour it into the mug (which is probably about 9 ounces of actual coffee) and then add cream and hot water to fill the cup. Perfect! If I used a finer grind it would probably be stronger but a medium drip grind is fine for me. It is easy to clean, 2-3 minutes in the sink. A little more work to use and a bit longer to brew than my 1 cup pour-over...but whenever I am not in a total hurry I use this Moka pot for its richer smoother flavor.NOTE: this is a small pot... 12 ounces of water in and 9-10 of coffee out. Everyone measures Moka capacity the same way (2 ounces of water per demitasse cup of moka)...so no mark down for that. However, to avoid disappointment order a larger pot if you want more coffee than that.

The maker is high quality a comes with a lifetime warranty - There is little reason to buy a different brand of the 6 cup maker.
I have had a chance to use this for a while and can say that the quality is high and the customer service (they contacted me a couple of times to see how I felt about the maker) was responsive. With a lifetime warranty, there is little reason to buy a different brand of the 6 cup maker. I do wish they had made a 3 cup version as I bought one from a different vendor. It did help me compare the production quality of the different brands and I would say that it showed the high quality of this maker and the big reason it deserves 5 stars.

A great and simple, (yet classy), Espresso Maker
I really enjoy this Espresso Maker. I truly believe that a stove top espresso maker should be simple and of great quality. For the price, it is more than a bargain purchase, PLUS it comes with an extra gasket. This espresso maker is simple, classy, sturdy, and it does its job well. The handle feels sturdy and I never feel like I will burn myself when I am pouring the espresso onto my cup.Since ownership, I have been using almost twice a day, the bottom of the espresso maker has not discolored. It's simple to wash and clean, and it looks classy as it sits on my stove top.Overall I am completely satisfied with the product, the price and the customer service from the seller. I would buy again, and will buy this one for anyone else as a gift. No problems.

This lovely Alpha Espresso Maker looks like a good choice in terms of quality/price
Congrats! This lovely Alpha Espresso Maker looks like a good choice in terms ofquality/price. It mimics the classic Italian design of Bialetti makers, first invented in 1930s.In some respects, that classic design was even improved by Alpha. E.g. the Maker’s handle is more ergonomic.Be aware that the nominal capacity of 6 espresso cups (354 ml)means the full volume of the water tank must be filled. However you can only pour the water up to safety valve, which results in approximately 4 1/2 espresso cups (285ml).During the 5-minute brewing process the water goes up through the funnel, leaving certain amount at the bottom, due to the length of the funnel’s neck.As the result, in the end you get about 4 cups (250ml) of rich coffee.Another common concern about aluminum as the construction material... From our experience, - aluminum body doesn't affect the taste of coffee by no means, first off all, due to the short duration of the process. Hopefully, the quality of the aluminum alloy is adequate to resist the aggressive components of coffee. Aluminum is not the best material in terms of chemical inertness. However, the thin film of oxide protects that metal very well. It all depends on manufacturing process and raw material.Would like to mention that Coffee Maker’s design does not allow brewing various amounts of coffee. You always have to use full tank of water and coffee funnel must be filled completely as well. You need to choose different capacity Maker to brew the same best quality ofcoffee if so desired. In general, both design and manufacturing quality are outstanding. I have observed no leaks so far, which is a common issue with low-quality products.Maintenance and cleaning is extremely simple – just a quick rinse with warm water and dry. Do not use aggressive detergents or hard sponges! That may damage that valuable oxide film!Tip: in order to prevent handle’s melting by electric stove’s heat, always place the pot on the side of the burner.

Good Handle Design
I made the mistake of putting my former moka coffee maker in the dishwasher--and that pretty much ruined it. So I purchased this one as the replacement, mainly because of the handle. It is a good feature. It extends out enough that it does not get exposed to the gas flame (my last one melted a bit) and it is not hot to the touch. The price is right and an extra gasket is included. I gave it four stars because my new moka leaks at the screw-in joint when pouring; it does not spit when steaming. Maybe the extra gasket will solve the problem, but maybe not.

I like this little coffee maker
I like this little coffee maker. My first one of this kind. It does make stronger coffee which is why I got it. It looks good and is quite efficient but this isn't the kind of coffee maker that you can leave unattended so this wouldn't be good for someone who is easily distracted. It is totally worth the price for what it is. The top lid seems more plastic than metal but that is my only gripe about it. I am pleased with this purchase.
