The perfect match for your Dewalt impact
+Fits your impact without any adapters+Titanium edges last long+Pilot tips make it easier to start holes in metal+Typical range of bits with included case- costMy little Dewalt impact is a better drill than my drill is. When the going gets tough, your drill will break your wrist. When the going gets tough, your impact beats the daylights out of your drill bits and saves your wrist. These drill bits fit directly into an impact with no adapter. Just throw that drill away. These bits are titanium coated, which means long life in steel as long as they don't get hot, but you cannot resharpen them. Use cutting fluid in thicker metals. The pilot hole tips are perfect for little guys like me who have a hard time starting a hole with the bigger bits. Don't be afraid to engage the impact hammer here and there, these bits can take it. There really is no downside, except that these are expensive bit set to ruin if you snap a bit or run it hot and dull it.

Nice Drill Bits if you have an impact driver
Was very excited when I saw these bits come out as I have been hoping someone would make these. If you have an impact driver you understand that it is always the tool you grab first to drive any kind of screw or bolt. A drill just does not compare. If you don't have an impact driver you don't know what you are missing and I highly recommend you get one, you will be blown away at the ease it drives screws. That said, there are times I would like to pre drill a hole for a screw I am going to drive and in the past I would have to get my drill out so I could use one of my drill bits ( a little bit of a hassle if you don't have it with you). Now I don't have to worry anymore as I can use one of these bits right in my impact driver and get the job done. Must have if you have an impact driver. If you found this review helpful please let me know by pressing the helpful button below. Disappointed
Only the 4 largest bits in this DD5160 set are 1-piece design like it shows in the picture and says in the description at the time of my purchase. The other bits in the set are a 2-piece design. The bits in this set actually have 3 different base designs as you can see in my photo. These bits are not for cement/concrete as drilling into those materials requires bits made specifically for that purpose. Cement bits do not have sharp edges and have a chisel point. For hardened steel, Cobalt bits are a better choice than these.I've used these bits for some time now and they have performed ok. These bits are short and when I purchase another set I will make sure to get longer bits that can go through a 2x4

Someone remind me to order a replacement 1/4" bit.
Broke the 1/4 bit trying to drill out the ignition on my old Toyota. Can you call a 2000 Corolla old yet? I bought it new. It's been a great car.The ignition wouldn't turn anymore. So the auto parts store gave us a replacement ignition. Only you have to be able to turn the key to "acc" to unlock the pin that lets you pull the ignition out. And since it wouldn't turn, and I don't know how much C4 to use to blow it out without destroying the car (that's a mythbusters joke), I figured the next best option was to drill it out.The 1/4 in bit got bound up in some of the metal and snapped before I could release the trigger (on my Dewalt 20 volt impact wrench). I've seen that wrench spin the head off a lag bolt I was using to mount file cabinets to a wall, so I mean I wasn't terribly surprised. So when they say things like "impact ready" ... they don't mean you won't break the bits if you aren't a little cautious.Edit: The two larger bits went through the rest of the ignition without problem, and after I vacuumed out the bits of metal, the replacement ignition got the car running again.

Who cares about impact ready anyway?
I have tried several different drill bit sets to replace the aging set of high speed drill bits I've used for 50 year. But during that time and with the advent of the cheap Chinese drill motor chucks, the drill bit shafts have worn down.Other drill bit sets turned out to be regular drill bits inserted into a 1/4" base. After a little use, the drill bits turn in their base and you are back to your normal drill bit. These bits are built as one-piece. They are hard and stay sharp for a long time. You can't grind them by hand very easily (only the tips) so when they get dull you might have to grind them to regular bits, but they last a long time and when ground down, they are still better than most standard drill bits. These are one tough set of bits!
