I think the paint would stay on it. Not really sure as I haven't tried to paint mine. **Q: Could this be used outside as a memorial on a headstone, or would it weather away?** A: It's very tiny ... just so you know, maybe 3inches tall. But I would assume the paint is NOT weather proof. Sun, rain or snow .... I don't think so, unless you have plans to put it under a glass dome of sorts ... I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
