Review: Can't workout without Walkfit! - I was looking on desertcart to replace my original pairs of Walkfit orthotics, because I was using the "low" inserts and felt like I need more support...and this was after trying multiple types of OTC orthotics **and** a pair of custom made ones, none of which consistently worked to relieve foot pain for me. I saw this newer model version and of course gave them a shot. Let me add the usual reviewer background and caveats: I have funny shaped feet (even the podiatrist admitted so); they're neither flat nor high arched, they LOOK normal but the bone that presses down on the ball of your foot is a little sharper and a little more extend-y than normal, which equates to pain when doing anything upright for any length of time, and has led to a tendency to walk on the outsides of my feet. The pain and funny walking have weakened my ankles over time, and with yo-yo-ing weight and age I'm also fighting back and hip pain. I've recently recovered from months of inactivity due to ankle injuries, and my feet are longing for kindness. I've tried everything over the years, most recently a $300 pair of custom orthotics which were a JOKE in terms of relief & support. Even the ones recommended by the shoe fit reps at those specialty stores didn't work like I'd hoped (although they were certainly better than the stupid custom ones). Back to the actual review...Here's the main reason I love these WF orthotics: last year (when I was young and weighed less!) I was doing hard core workouts (aerobics, kick boxing, interval training) in my basement and could get away with the using the $25-50 OTC orthotics in my running shoes, although when it came to step classes and cardio machines, I had to use my cross-trainers and the Walkfit inserts. I'm now back to working out every day now (walking, elliptical, stair master only) and have found that while some shoes work better for some activities, either way I need my Walkfit orthotics. I need the Medium inserts for things like the elliptical and archer, but the High size is great for walking. It's been 2 weeks now, and between these inserts and a lengthy post-workout stretch session, I have MUCH LESS back and hip pain. VERY NICE! Now, I am still geting ball of foot pain, but these inserts aren't going to prevent bone spur pain, so I created my own type of custom orthotics which have helped some: I bought a pair of cheap cushion inserts and a pair of gel ball of foot pads and some duct tape...cut the inserts in half and taped the top parts to my WF inserts, then glued the gel pads on top of that...wrapped everything up with a little more duct tape, and voila - CUSTOM ORTHOTICS that are CHEAP, functional and WORK! Thanks to these WF inserts!! Seriously, you'd never think that a hard piece of plastic 2/3 the size of your foot would bring such comfort...but I love them. NOTE: I usually only wear these in my work out shoes for 1-2 hours a day, but once "broken in" I will wear them in hiking boots or whatever shoes I'll be wearing if I'm on my feet for extended periods of time (>8 hours). Going from a few hours to all day has never been a problem.
Review: My arches are pretty flat, as I used to be a runner ... - Second update: Ordered another pair, as the originals (about 4 years old) have been cracking at the heel now for a while and I can finally notice it when I walk. $24 for 3-4 years of every day walking, plus occasional hiking and running, wow what a great investment! UPDATE: After THREE years of using this product, it's held up quite well. I use it every day at work in my boots. It's at the point now where I don't need it for my other shoes. I can even wear FLIP FLOPS with no pain. They really do shape your feet over time. They fit like a glove now yet have not lost it's shape or hardness. Worth every penny. Previous review I bought these as a last resort before sending in for a pair of custom orthotics ($300). I have to say these were well worth the investment. A bit of background: I am on my feet 8 hours a day, and I probably walk about 5 miles a day for my job. I am also a full time student, and have to walk across the campus quite a few times a week. These things really will adjust your feet if you use them properly. I have not moved up on the arch scale to medium or large, nor have I tried the massaging insert. As of now, I barely notice the soreness in my joints. What it could use: I recommend getting another FLAT insert (gel, or foam) for the rest of the foot. The instructions recommend removing the old insole because many have a built in (albeit pitiful) arch support which would cause this orthotic to not fit in properly. However, many shoes have a hard or harder inside bottom, and the ball of the foot becomes sore after the day. I bought a pair of flat inserts at Target and had theses WalkFits on top of it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Buy for Price, Helping correct relaxed and torn arch issues!! -ARMY GUY

I have wide fore foot and narrow heal, considering that it fits well. I'm a small built guy sprinter by nature. While in the army we had to go long distances and strain our feet whilst carrying heavy packs(80-140lbs depending). Caused my arches to become flat since my feet had no strength to maintain arch after the first 15-20 miles(every other day), they just give out and you duck walk to the finish, bad for your feet. I like them in my boots the most, however they do feel good when i go for a run. I work out with them so that i develop muscles to support my corrected arch, not develop them while in a dysfunctional state. Seems to be working as expected. I use highest arch setting, I notice after a work out with them and then an additional 6 -8 hours on my feet i feel soreness. It's to be expected i suppose as it is pressing the tendons into a corrected position. I do wonder if it is causing them to stretch however, To counter the "idea" that may be the case, when bare foot or sandals i consciously pay attention to my posture, slight bend to knees usually forces my knees into alignment with hips(removing the natural lean a person has) and also the ankles and in turn feet. I do notice in long mirror the symmetry that is coming back. Of course newly used muscles are not tired, they just give out since they have not been trained. I find myself when losing endurance on my feet naturally standing with locked knees and then my feet in turn begin to roll inward towards arch with my weight, then my feet shimmy outwards to rest the weight on the arch of foot and not balls of my foot. Point being these inserts work well as a guide. It presses up against your tendons to form arch and naturally your body adapts by tightening area and "flexing" the arch to help strengthen it. Does take time. Again you will "feel" it out. You will notice from soreness if you wear them to long off the bat. I wore 14 hours first day and hurt pretty bad. but objectively i noticed it was causing me to improve posture even when not wearing them. So play around with it a bit, the different sizes, maybe a few hours at a time, then off and wait to see if there is soreness to access your tolerance. There are three elevation pads with this purchase. They work great. I enjoy them. @@on a side note i noticed i now seem to want to stand on the side of my feet when in bare foot. looking in full length mirror i realized if i just force myself from that position to press the pad of my big toe down, that is where my feet used to be and what my arch used to look like. Plus everything is aligned perfectly, so i guess these are reminding my body how it should stand and where it appears im on the sides of my feet, that is really just how many degrees of twist and deformation to my forefoot that has occurred since i started becoming flatfooted. Good to know that it causing my body to realign itself even when not using them. Just a conscious effort to retrain muscles and tendons that have grown and stretched wrong for years. Just something i noticed. Maybe it helps someone. These insoles are a Great buy for the price, good quality, and are helping me correct issues for sure!@@
