Gioteck EX-01 Bluetooth Headset for PS3

When I was in the market for a headset, I really didn't know which way to turn. Then when I came to Amazon, this one jumped out at me. But the sleek look of it wasn't enough for me. I had to read some reviews to it to properly make up my mind. The few reviews there were, sold me on this headset, and goodness knows I am so glad they did. This headset is definitely one for the books. The audio quality is stellar. It is of diamond quality when you only expect bronze. The price tag makes you think that this headset must be of lower quality. Allow me to tell you all that this time great things really can come in cheap packages. It's been a few years since I picked this one up for less than $30. And just now is when it begins to falter on me. 3 years of wonderful service, for only $30. My friends you truly can't beat that. It fits well around the ear, and truthfully you can actually forget you have it on. That has happened to me on many occasions. Am I saying that it is the absolute perfect headset? No, but what I am saying is that if you just want to hear and talk to others without problems, this is the one for you. It doesn't cancel out other noise or anything like that but then again most of us are playing within quiet confines anyway... This headset is a beautiful stride for the service it provides. If you're caught between headsets and don't have that $100 to spend on the most expensive one, do not pass this little baby right here up. 3 years for $30 and possibly even more, I just used mine consistently sweat and everything has been absorbed by this little audio miracle. Wear and tear is finally giving way but I can't say I didn't get more than my monies worth. Just keep your sights on this little beauty. You won't regret it.

This unit sits outside of your ear, which is nice for people who like that setup. It is also loud enough so that when it sits outside of your ear, you can still hear the sound well. Music comes across very well, although speech is just a touch on the muddy side, but since the PS3 converts it to IP and compresses it anyway, there's no real loss. The microphone is great, however. People commented that I sounded much clearer on my blackberry.The unit is also VERY light. It weighs almost nothing, so wearing it all day is comfortable. The ear clip also goes almost all the way around the ear, so it stays on well even though it doesn't go into the ear.The only reason it doesn't get five stars is that the speaker muddies up people's voices over a cell phone just a little bit compared to something like the Voyager. This is most likely due to the over-the-ear versus the in-the-ear design, so don't let it stop you from buying it. It is also a rather large earpiece, but it's so light that it isn't an issue, but if you're walking around with it, it won't exactly be hidden.So if you want a very light, very inexpensive over-the-ear bluetooth headset, this is a great choice. The fact that is also works with the PS3 seamlessly is just a nice bonus.

This device is great and well worth the price.First the packaging. Unlike most new devices or accessories I buy these days, this one came in a very simple to open package. It was not heat sealed in a thick plastic that seems to get sharper than the scissors you need to open it! For this all you had to do was remove two pieces of tape, lift two tabs and the main piece just slides right out. The earpiece is then secured with a twist tie that is very simply removed. This is a company that knows people actually like to use the things they buy!Second is the included chargers. It does not use a standard USB connection to charge; however, they include a cable designed for plugging into a USB port. I use this PS3 Charge Station to charge my controllers and now my earpiece thanks to that cable.Now the actual earpiece. It is very comfortable and sits well on the ear. The loop that goes around your ear is very soft and flexible.As they say you will forget you are even wearing it. Or at least you would if it wasn't for the great sound quality. That little single speaker on the device is extremely clear. I have had no problems hearing people and no one has complained about being able to hear me.This device allows for great communication while playing, so it does add another level of fun to gaming.
