Staedtler only makes 780C's now so they are the same no matter what you order. The 780BK iis a blister pack from what I've read. **Q: Do I have to buy special “lead”?** A: I only use stadtler lead. It is strong, smooth and very consistent even in the hard grades. 2mm is easy to find. 0.3 or 0.5mm are a little harder in the harder grades but really worth looking for. **Q: Does this come with the sharpener in the top of the pen?** A: Yes, the little hole on top of the cap is the sharpener, just remove the cap and get enough graphite, insert it into the hole and twist it many times until you get the desire tip, then tap the cap onto a towel to remove the residue. **Q: Is the lead supposed to just slide out? I have the right brand and size and it slides out when I try to dispense it.** A: When you press the button at the back it opens the grippers and lets the lead slide in or out. Let go of the button and the holder grabs the lead so you can write with it.
