I think it can be done and you would get great results. However, when I apply skin elixir, I apply a think layer and I like to pat it in and let my skin absorb all the nutrients ( 5- 10 min) then I apply the BB cream, I use #5 its natural looking. Use very little it goes a long way. The BB cream will help with redness in the skin.
