Found empty cartridge even though cap was on tight. No ink to ball now. Is it trash, or can it be fixed?** A: I would suggest purchasing a Schmidt K1 ink converter such as MV31071. Fill the ink converter with water. Attach it to the pen [as you would an ink cartridge] and flush it a few times. Should be good to go. Plus you now can use fountain pen bottled ink with this pen and this converter. You might try running it across a piece of paper in an effort to get it unstuck. You can also try pressing the tip firmly down on a pad of paper; the pressure can help unstick the ball. Lastly try applying a small amount of oil to the tip with a cotton swab before and after running it across paper. I’ve personally had success with the latter step. **Q: Will the pen accept a standard fountain pen ink converter? If not, how do you clean (dried) ink out, when you change ink color ?** A: No it does not.
