Don't get the generic replacement parts just to save a few bucks. The pads here are top quality and it's like getting a brand new pair of 280s. Installation can seem like a pain but most likely you're just trying to be too gentle. The first pad took me about four minutes. The second pad took me thirty seconds when I realized the pads weren't going to break - just pull hard to stretch them around the earpiece. The top pad is even easier - it goes together like a ziploc.

The replacement ear pads are a like-for-like exchange for the ear pads that came with the original Sennheiser HD280 headphones. They make the headphones feel like new - I use them in the field on video shoots and they're quite robust.Unlike some reviewers, I found no real difficulty in replacing them - you just have to apply a bit of common sense and reference their replacement video. My one and only criticism is that costing as they do over a third of the price of the original headphones , they're quite pricey.

Worth getting official manufacturer replacement pads , work great and unlike some reviewers I found these fairly easy to install. Just make sure at room temp when you begin or, if need be, warm up with a hair dryer to soften take your time . I now have ( to me anyway)_ a brand new set of headphones . Good to not fall into the "throw away" and buy new ones mentality trap that seems to be prevalent these days ...with a little effort and minimal cost you can rejuvenate your stuff .The landfills are already full of our crap!

Small price to pay to give an older set of headphones some much needed life. Really easy to upgrade.
