Fountain with spillway works great.
This liner with the spillway spout works perfectly in a half wine barrel. I bought a plain round liner at my local nursery for the bottom barrel but couldn’t find one with a spillway. I ordered this one and received it in a couple of days and it fits nearly perfectly. We put an old cable around the edge between the lip and the barrel to hide the small gap but that was just cosmetic. The liner is very good quality and I’m happy with the fountain look.

A waterfall for a backyard stream and fish pond
This barrel liner was a perfect fit for a Jack Daniels half-barrel that I bought from my local Lowes store. To accommodate the spillway lip, I cut a small section from the top of the barrel. From my fish pond, I used a combination of rigid PVC pipe (with cemented fittings) and flexible vinyl tubing to pump water to the barrel liner. With the barrel tipped slightly towards the spillway, the resulting waterfall cascades into a 15 foot EPDM rubber-lined stream, that connects back to the fish pond. To provide some natural filtration, I've added two large Marsh Marigold plants that are just slightly submerged in the barrel liner (with planting containers held in place by copper wire threaded through eyelets that are screwed into the rim of the liner). The water plants also help to make the finished project look more natural, as do the ferns , Japanese iris and Japanese candelabra primroses that edge the stream. During the snowy winter months, I drain the piping. However, I leave the 950 gal/hr. pump at the bottom of the pond, to prevent the pump's moving parts from drying out.

The actual pot liner is great. The spout is not that great
The actual pot liner is great. The spout is not that great. I notched the whiskey barrel to allow for the spout but the rim of the liner on the sides of the spout keep the spout/overflow tilted in the upward direction; therefore when the water spills over it runs down the side of the barrel rather than forming a nice waterfall. This also causes the water to leave my pond as the barrel I have is not sitting on the pond liner so when the water leaks down the side it goes into the soil rather than back into my pond. I have tilted the barrel forward quite a bit but it still not working right. I haven't figured out a solution to this problem yet but if I do I'll try to report back.

Perfect for my pond
This product fits perfectly inside my Jack Daniels half whiskey barrel that I bought at Lowe's. I think my barrel is slightly deeper but the liner seems to fit fine. I did some research and Real Wood Products company makes barrel liners especially for old whiskey barrels. FYI the 26" diameter refers to the outer lip edge. The inner diameter that goes inside the barrel is about 22-23". The product feels very sturdy. I have the barrel tipped at a slight angle so it will drain faster into my pond (if I had a lower GPH pump I wouldn't have to do that). It looks absolutely awesome and I no longer have to worry about stapling a regular pond liner into my barrel and have it leak.

Needs bigger pour
A day early! Thanks! But note to the manufacturer... a tiny bigger dip for the pour - just another 1/2" deep and maybe 1" wider to allow for more flow volume - it overflows sides with a medium size pump. This means a pump with specific flow rate... not too much or little (generally means more maintenance). Also, the very tip of the pour could have more lip to it... preventing water from flowing back under pour. Mine may have been damaged in transit as this had no packaging Doesn't really need packaging, but might be nice to send with a bit of protection to very lip of pour.

Perfect fit.
It fit my wooden half whiskey barrel perfectly and works even better than I imagined.

Not what I expected!
I had carefully measured my barrel and had chosen the right size. When it arrived I found that it was too small and didn't measure exactly what it was supposed to. Also the spillway is too small and not engineered correctly. My old barrel, which had worn out and had holes, had a much bigger spillway which worked well. This one did not. I had to find a different barrel to put it in. So I was disappointed with the product.
