Mostly positive; wish controls were at the top
It's a very nice unit. It arrived a couple of days ago and so far, good first impression.POSITIVES: I like the design, the tip-over safety, the quick heat, the way it fits in a small space.NEGATIVES: 1. The only real negative is that the controls are at the bottom, not even tilted to face upward. I have to reach or bend down to the floor and tilt the whole heater to set the dials. Would have been so much nicer to have the controls on the top!2. There is no setting for the thermostat - just high and low - and I don't know yet if it will turn off when it reaches a certain temp.3. Like most of the small heaters I have seen, the "handle" or notch at the top back is so small and smooth, it's hard to grab, slips out of my hands - just a minor annoyance.

Great unit, below average quality control
I ordered two of these heaters, they are just what I need with regards to functionality, safety, design, and cost. They were shipped quickly. One heater worked perfectly but the other made a rhythmic noise (sounded like an out of balance fan or something), so I exchanged it. It was replaced VERY quickly, the replacement unit does not make the sound in regular use, it's actually very quiet, but when you turn on the oscillation, there is a slight noise. This is not a function I will use frequently so I am keeping the unit. The other heater that I bought, after a week or so, stopped the oscillating function. I haven't bothered to try to trouble-shoot the problem, as this isn't a high priority for me. So in summation, I would get this heater if you want something quiet, safe, attractive, and economical. It creates enough heat for my office where I use it (20x20) You may have an return issue though and if oscillating is important, you may have some troubles to deal with.

Workin' Fine
This is a four-star rather than a five-star review because I don't see the point of giving five stars to a heater just because it works. It's nothing special, just does what it's supposed to. I like the taller design, since mostly I use it to warm me sitting in an armchair. Just wanted a spot heater for watching TV in a room far too open for it to completely heat. I agree with the complaints about the controls, but it just becomes habit to know what and where they are. It is VERY quiet with the fan at full speed, which isn't very powerful. The heat is good, though, and I've used it a couple of times in the bedroom, where it's done a great job. Doesn't have a lot of lights, bells or whistles and, with its quiet fan, is very good in the bedroom. I've had it a few weeks and am very happy with it. Don't yet know about electricity consumption, though.

Excellent heater: so good I ordered a second one!
This is the second one of this model heater I have purchased. The first one is 2 years old: it has kept my chickens, out in our barn, warm for two very cold mountain winters, and is still running perfectly. It keeps the henroom warm enough to keep their water from freezing, even in subzero temps, without overheating my hens. I ordered this second one as backup heat for the basement to prevent frozen pipes during long , subzero cold spells. I particularly like the oscillation feature, which expands the heated area. It is also energy efficient: it is the only electric space heater I found that doesn't trip the rather touchy breaker in my barn. Even though I run this heater in the barn 24/7 through most of the winter months, there was no significant increase in our electric bills. The front vents need to be cleaned about once a year: when they become clogged, the heater's thermostat trips and the heater stops working until the vents have been cleaned, then it starts up once again, good as new. I definitely recommend this heater- it's the only one I've ever owned that I would recommend.

Pretty Good Heater for Fairly Cheap
I got this heater for my dorm at school. The room is probably about 15x15 (I'm really not sure but its big enough for four guys) and it definitely makes a difference in the temperature of the room. It can be somewhat weak when you are using it to blow heat directly on you as a fan but i had a really small desk fan i put behind it to generate more air so i don't have that problem really. I would recommend this heater, i like the swivel feature and the whole lack of thermostat isn't a big deal. Put it on high and you are good if its cold. I put 4 stars just because it isn't perfect but it will get the job done. A more expensive heater i didn't have the extra cash for would get 5 stars.

Hot, but noise complaints
I ordered this product specifically because it was labeled as being 'quiet'. When it arrived (on time) it was smaller than expected although when I plugged it in and fired it up it was putting out a surprising amount of heat rather quickly. The BIG problem was the rattling noise. It sound like the casing was never connected properly to the internals and it does rattle. Okay for some, annoying for me. Don't know if I will be able to sleep with it on. One really cool feature on it is the anti tip device which is just a button on the bottom of the base on the floor side that has to be depressed by the units weight in order for it to work. All in all, heats well, annoying sound.

Buyer - do you due dilligence
This heater is what it is. It does a good job heating a 10 ft. by 10 ft. room that it well insulated when the outside temperature is 50 degrees. A bigger room (or an uninsulated room), or colder outside temperature - not so much so.A 12.5 amp (1500 watts at 120 volts) heater just isn't going to heat a 400 sq. ft. uninsulated room to the point where you have to strip down to your skivvies. But if you've got a 100 to 144 sq. ft. room that your central furnace doesn't keep as warm as the rest of the house, this should do you fine.

Warm little heater
This heater works great for a smaller room. My dad is elderly and always seems to be chilled. This works perfect for him. Somehow I wish the controls were on the top rather than on side, near the bottom. He doesn't use the controls, he just plugs it in, and unplugs it when he is warm enough. We had a second one for our living room, but with cathedral ceilings, this heater was not a great choice. It dones work well in our bedroom when needed.

Slow Heat
It is good for my home but not for a very cold area. It just does not seem to put out alot of heat. Works fine though besides the lack of heat coming from it.
