The photo was taken 8 days after planting and you can easily see new grass emerging. The spot in the photo was completely bare but other parts of the yard had some grass mixed with some bare spots. The Pennington grass seed mix did well in both areas. This mixture had fertilized included; I would have preferred just seed and no fertilize. Without fertilize already in the mix I could have matched it to what the soil test said I needed instead of what the seed company added for general purpose. Now I’ll have to wait until the grass is established and retest the soil to see what type of additional fertilize may be needed.

**Q: How much of this product is actually grass seed?  Why isn't the seed tag shown on the pictures?  What is the mixture?**
A: Great job on video for the seed tag/grass seed mix. Basically ~38% Fescue, the rest is not grass seed. 
This stuff does come up well in the shade, but like with most of the seeds now, you are getting less than 50% seed when you pay and the rest is inert ingredients in the form of fertilizer and coating. It was nice when a 5 pound bag of grass seed contained 5 pounds of grass seed...

**Q: Is this product good to use in st Augustine grass?**
A: The problem in planting it in St. Augustine is that the blades are different and the color is much deeper green.

**Q: Is this grass good with dogs who and play in the area put?**
A: I am not having a lot of luck with this grass so no it would not be good for dogs.

**Q: What are the actual grass varieties?**
A: Nearly all tall fescue varieties.

With a little modification of the water supply, we suddenly had surprisingly good new grass growth, and are delighted to finally have grass in the part of the lawn that NEVER gets direct sunlight.
