They just pop right on and snap in place. I have driven short trips and 400 mile trips and they are still in place as tightly as when I put them on.Here’s the best thing about them:I’m in Florida, where traffic law requires brake lights to be visible 300ft away in daylight (that’s 1 football field). Not only do these qualify and make the cut, but let’s say I catch an FHP officer having a bad day and he decides to write me a ticket because he thinks they’re too dark. Florida law would require me to pay the ticket OR fix the problem and then I don’t have to pay the ticket once I prove it’s fixed. The left one fit perfectly and the right one was a bit loose. It also rubs up against the paint and scuffs it a bit which is why I recommend to just get a film instead. But these are convenient in the fact that you can take them off when ever you'd like.
