Perfect and amazing sound quality
This speakers are amazing!!! It took me awhile to buy them because i was very worried about how cheap they wear and if they are going to be horrible but over all I LOVE them! The set up is very easy and you get more that enough length for the rear speakers. (If needed, splicing the cables or just using your own is equally easy too.) The system sits in a fair large room (two side by side rooms combined into one style) and it is plenty loud enough to be heard in the far corners and even through out the house (If near maxed out). The Sub is perfect for gaming and feels like your in the middle of a war zone during action movies. I highly recommend this to anyone starting out going to surround sound or if you want to get away from the sound bar (which doesn't even compare to the real thing).

Easy to setup and great sound
I got this on a flash sale through Amazon and am so far very pleased with it. This replaced an extremely outdated home theater system which was infinitely worse. I wouldn’t consider myself an audiophile but I do consider myself tech savy. I was able to set it up so that only one remote now controls the volume for all my devices without having to switch back and forth between a tv remote and receiver remote. Setup was a breeze and everything is clearly labeled.A couple of setup notes:One HDMI high speed cable between the receiver and HDMI 1 input is the vizio TVI used all HDMI high speed cables for my other systems (arc/cec compatible)I enabled CEC on the receiver setup (looks like a gear on the receiver remote)I enabled CEC on my vizio and had to changethe audio settings to Fixed while disabling the tv audio. I ran device discovery under the CEC menu on the vizio for it to display my Apple TV and blu ray player.Once I did those steps I was able to reduce my remote clutter down to one universal remote which controls my tv and blu Ray player. For the Apple TV I just use the app from iOS. Sound is entirely outputted by the receiver now.A couple of notes about the receiver:Great soundSubwoofer is non-powered, not a major dealbreaker for meTwo rear satellite speakers work greatAll speakers are wiredYou can interchange speakers with non-onkyo speakers.

Small size big value.
A good value for the money. Both the size and the sound of the speakers are more than adequate for an average size room. Whether you're listening to music or watching a movie the surround sound effect is anything but disappointing. The cube size of the front, center & rear speakers where perfect not too big to draw attention but big enough to produce a quality sound. The subwoofer is a good enough size to be overlooked but give you that boom when needed. There were a few minor issues, could be more personal than anything else. In no particular order 1) it is not iPod, iPad or iPhone ready by use of the USB port. If you use a iPad or iPhone you must connect the device through BlueTooth turn your device volume all the way up then turn up the volume on the receiver to suit. If you change various BT enabled devices you must remember to first turn off the old device in order to sync the new device. 2) When using the receiver remote going from tuner, DVDs,games etc to cable tv you must be aware the remote inadvertently goes to TV or will turn off the cable box from time to time. If you go between DVDs and cable tv it doesn't automatically change you must manually go between the input to change the view screen. 3) When using the USB to play music from a Flashdrive there is a short delay while the receiver reads the Flashdrive. If you don't use the t.v. Screen to see what's on the drive going from folder to folder or track to track can be a bit challenging especially if you're not familiar with the remote. 4) The use of this system can be a bit intimidating if you are not an average stereo person. The instructions could be spelled out better for a novice to average stereo minded person. If you don't mind taking a moment or two trying to figure it out. 5) It comes with basic speaker wire with about 10 ft for the front center & rear speakers & about 15 ft for the rear, I suggest upgrading to at least 16 awg wire and properly placing the wire out of site. Overall I feel you're getting a the "Bang for the Bucks" my main drawback was having an older iPod with music and not being able to connect it the unit and play it directly.

Very Impressive for the price
Wow! I didn't expect a lot out of a $250 system, but I have to admit, I am impressed. And much to my surprise, I'm most impressed by the passive sub. Lots of low end power, and not too "muddy". I installed this system in my outdoor pool cabana (two side brick, two sides open with bar height counters) and have no complaints about the sound quality. The front, rear, and center speakers fill the space nicely with sound, and there is plenty of volume. I did not use most of the 22 gauge speaker wire that came with the system (only for the center and the sub). Knowing my runs would be longer, I bought a 100' reel of 16 gauge wire and used a total of 99 feet of it for the fronts & rears. My only wish is that the system would turn on automatically when I turn on the TV and satellite box.

Cheap build quality 5/10 but sound quality is 9/10
You get what you pay for. This was one of the cheaper systems I've found but I always viewed onkyo as a superior brand. I live the features of this surround sound system but the volume knob is very false feeling and the remote seems cheap . The higher frequencies also give a tin static sound and although the sub works very well it's small so don't expect to push it above 7+. Besides the cheap plastic they used for everything, it was easy to set up and the Bluetooth is awesome. Would recommend
