The 1W was way too big in the shoulders and upper back but fit just right around the hips and waist. The arms were very long too. I think they are supposed to be longer than a normal jacket so they don't hike up when you ride, but these were too long. I ordered the XL from Amazon, hoping the fit would be better, and the shoulders and arms fit properly, but the hips and waist area are too tight. I could zip the jacket, but just barely. This might fit a lady who is large on top with narrower hips and waist. Really too bad as the jacket's design and features seem well thought out. This would have been great in the XL if the hips and waist were about 2 inches bigger, as the sides have cinches to make adjustments (I had mine all the way undone -still too small). As it is the proportions still seem made for a man. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fabulous! *by H***B on December 16, 2013* This jacket is almost perfect. It was made for a plus size woman. It FITS. And by that I mean that they didn't just take a regular jacket and enlarge it to fit around a heavier person. You will NOT find gorilla arms or massive shoulders. I had been wearing my hubbies jacket and it was always uncomfortable and I never forgot I was wearing armor. With this jacket you do not even know the armor is there. It is great. It keeps me warm down to about 40 with the liner. My only objection is that the interior is made with waterproof material and it is very sweaty in the heat of the summer. (Over 90) it actually drips down your arm even If the vents are open. I'm hoping this company will come up with a mesh alternative I can buy before next summer. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Riding Jacket *by T***Y on May 3, 2010* I purchased this jacket in a larger size than I would purchase regular clothing, just because my hips are larger than the rest of my upper body. The 1X coat fit my hips, but the sleeves were way too long, and of couse the larger the size, the more bulky it becomes as well. My upper body was swimming in it. It's not a bad jacket, I actually liked the features it had on it. I called the seller (The Helmet Zone) and exchanged the jacket for another one that I found on their website that was more forgiving in its design. I think there could be better designed jackets for women.
