Gong is very audible at this range. Target stand is showing some minor wear and tear from shrapnel but this is expected. Stand is lightweight and takes seconds to set up so it's great if your shooting alone. Overall for the price I'm very happy with the purchase and would buy again. I would suggest swapping chain bolts to grade 8 bolts as both did strip and 1 broke by the end of the day, which is expected with such a high caliber round. **update** after another 200+ rounds of 308 at 100yrds coupled with 100+ rounds of 223, and there is still no damage to the plate. The stand also took a direct hit to the top and only dented but is structurally sound and still working fine. I went with the cheaper option on desertcart (which usually ends in disappointment) but this is the exception. Everyone will ask you at the range "where did you buy that?." I've already saved more than $75 that would have been spent on targets and target holders. Thanks Viking Solutions! Review: A sturdy, adaptable target mount - Excellent, sturdy frame. The frame on mine has taken some stray shots and is still holding up well! When the local public range banned metal plates, I adapted it by cutting plywood squares and circle target mounts, drilling holes in them, and bolting them to the support chains. This rig is quick to set up and take down! ## Features - AR500 10" Gong System - Crossbar is 26" long - system is 32" tall - 18" to center of gong - Simple 10 minute (one-time) assembly - No tool field setup in seconds - made for thousands of shots - we have pistol and rifle shooters using these gongs - please see our reviews - we engineer products for durability and ease of use! - Designed to withstand up to .30 caliber rifle/.45 caliber pistol - audible and visual target hit confirmation is fun! - Includes everything for setup - 10" Gong, Proof Chain, leg stands, hardware - ready to shoot after short assembly - All components powder coated for durability and years of use! We also offer a dual 10" system (2 gongs and stands) that is a super deal! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0106K1Q88 | | Best Sellers Rank | #804,574 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #2,814 in Hunting Targets & Accessories | | Brand | Viking Solutions | | Brand Name | Viking Solutions | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 83 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00859949004187 | | Included Components | gong stand | | Item Highlight | Durable, Easy to Set Up, Proof Chain and Hardware Included | | Item Type Name | Viking Solutions 10" Gong Target System | | Item Weight | 10 kg | | Manufacturer | GSM LLC | | Manufacturer Part Number | VS-VGS003 | | Material | Alloy Steel | | Material Type | Alloy Steel | | Model Number | VS-VGS003 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Shape | Round | | Size | 10" | | Sport | Pistol Shooting, Rifle Shooting | | Sport Type | Pistol Shooting, Rifle Shooting | | Team Name | Birchwood Casey | | UPC | 859949004187 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Size:** 10" - **Material:** Alloy Steel - **Color:** Black - **Sport:** Pistol Shooting, Rifle Shooting - **Brand:** Viking Solutions ## Images ![Birchwood Casey 3/8" Gong Hanger Kit with Stand - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/517zceY27vL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Couldn't be happier! *by J***J on January 27, 2016* Shot with 308 at 100 yards and besides impact spots there's no damage to plate after 40 rounds. When the local public range banned metal plates, I adapted it by cutting plywood squares and circle target mounts, drilling holes in them, and bolting them to the support chains. This rig is quick to set up and take down! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for back/forth to the range trips *by A***R on January 25, 2026* I like these, I have 2 of them. Quick and easy to bring and setup then breakdown and take home. Work good. My only take away is I would like to see a way that the 2 stands (feet?) parts could be collapsed or altered in a way to store easier or flatter. Not a deterrent by any means, I would still use these and continue buying them when them when needed. ## Frequently Bought Together - VIKING Solutions Complete Gong Target System - Durable Easy to Set Up Shooting Gear - Proof Chain and Hardware Included - Caldwell High Caliber AR500 Steel Targets 3/8 Inch Thickness, Rifle Rated for Precision Shooting and Target Practice with Hanging Options (Sold Separately) - AR500 Steel Targets - 2100 FPE - 3/8 Inch AR500 Steel Gong - Laser Cut, Zinc Plated, Reactive --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sc/products/27861583-birchwood-casey-3-8-gong-hanger-kit-with-stand](https://www.desertcart.sc/products/27861583-birchwood-casey-3-8-gong-hanger-kit-with-stand) --- *Product available on Desertcart Seychelles* *Store origin: SC* *Last updated: 2026-11-08*
