Review: Great value - Great sprouter trays, germinates well under a windowsill. Size is small, but enough to rotate trays through to constantly have sprouts growing for my chickens during the winter. Easy to rinse out the sprouts each day. Once done, I clean them well and then soak them in a clorox/water solution and then start all over again with my lentils. Trays are sturdy and thick. Great value for what I needed.

**Q: Can the trays go sadly in the dishwasher?**
A: Well I didn't ask how they were feeling when I placed them in the dishwasher, but they did look happy once they were washed, rinsed, and dried. If your dishwasher will accept emotionally challenged items they will do just fine.

**Q: How much microgreen seeds do you use per tray? I keep overcrowding the trays**
A: It depends on the size of the seeds.  Just fill the tray.

**Q: Where is it made? What are the white sheets made of and are there chemicals in the sheets?**
A: I believe these are made in China, and the "white sheets" are simply mesh-bottomed trays that are fitted to the green ones (thus, they can be washed and used again and again). The soil-medium is spread into the white trays, and then the seeds are planted in the growth medium to germinate. When these trays are moistened to encourage germination, any excess liquid will fall into the trays (the green part) safely underneath. Once the young and tender sprouts appear and the roots are reaching far enough through the growth medium, watering can be achieved by raising the tray a bit and putting the water/plant food below for ready access to the roots. These trays are really nice and a great way to start smaller sheets of microgreens. 

As to any chemicals, there aren't any specific chemicals applied to the trays at all, over and above the fact that they are made of washable plastic. Wash well, rinse and spray with a food-grade peroxide solution so bacterial/fungal growth is minimized, then allow to dry fully between uses. Beyond that, the microgreens we grow don't have any "off" taste, they are delicious. :)

**Q: Where does the paper go? on top or under the seeds? tiny alfalfa seeds fall through holes in white tray**
A: Of course on the bottom to protect small seeds to fall down. I learned about how to grow sprouts in the trays. I explain little bit. When you put seeds on the paper and put water in a green tray than you need to cover seeds with green tray to press it down for 2 days. In 2 days when seeds start sprouting turn green tray over and cover seeds for another 2 days. After that remove green tray from the top and leave seeds open and 1-2 times a day add water as it is evaporating. In 7-9 days you will get what is on the picture. I couldn’t download picture. Sorry in 7-9 days rinse sprouts, transfer to plastic bag and store in a fridge.

These came fast and I was super excited. But the small holes in the white part don’t allow the shoots to grow up fully so there’s a lot wasted when you lift it up. I think it could be done better and I don’t think you need those I just use the green part, and it all worked out and the seeds were good. The white part frustrated me a little and I haven’t been using them as much as I thought I would. I planted the sunflower seeds in my yard and they made beautiful flowers. That’s if you don’t like I wasn’t to return these. I’m going to try again , the little cart that came with it is awesome. I use one in the bathroom for all of my make up and hair products. It was designed for useful.
