It did have some smell upon opening as others have commented on, but it was minor and not overpowering. I just put it in my bathroom and opened the window for 24 hours. It fits snugly in the cover, I have mine smaller honeycomb side up (part you sit on) , and larger side down on the chair (as suggested). It does move around a bit on my office chair as some have also made note of. I will try some grip tape and see if that makes any difference.
