Restored old patio furniture, worked better than the "patio cups" for us!
These were bought to restore an old set of wrought iron patio furniture. It was a table and 4-chairs set that originally came from a big-box hardware store over ten years ago... Lowe's, possibly. Originally we tried the white-colored "patio cup" inserts that sit within the cups on the legs, but we found that those sat too deep in the cups, allowing the metal to hit the patio when using the chairs. This style here sits further out from the metal cup so there is less chance of that happening. These fit every time with the exception of one chair's back legs; for that chair we used some of the old ones again that were still in decent shape. I blame the chair for this, not these parts. TIP: a rubber mallet ($5 at hardware store) really helps a lot in getting these installed! So far these have held up well, but it's been a month.

Good patio chair cups
Just received this package 2 hr ago and have all ready put on these chair cups on 3 of my 4 chairs. They work great! I used to have the white cups that were pretty level to the chair bottom. These black ones stick out just a little and I like the way they glide much better then my old ones. The first one snapped in great. Second one I had to pound in a bit. Third chair I decided to try sitting on the chair and they went in without pounding! I am glad they are black to look invisible on my black wrought iron set. My set is over 25 yr old and was from a high end furniture store. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great replacement glides!
These were great and fairly easy to get on. My 30 year old patio chairs just got a new coat of paint and the old glides were long gone. These went on the first chair quite easily, but of course the second chair was a little harder. I just got them lined up with opening and pushed in as much as I could, then took a hammer and lightly tapped them in. My chairs are black and since these are black they aren't noticeable. It extends past the opening a little farther than the original white ones did, but they work great. I've only had them about a month so I hope they will be durable.

but so far so good.
These glides are correctly sized and fit snugly in our chair leg bases. For tighter fits, I used large adjustable (tongue and groove) pliers and a small piece of wood or metal to squeeze the glide against the base and push it into place. (Put the wood or metal between the pliers and the glide to avoid scarring the glide with the rough face of the pliers.) The chairs slide smoothly on our wooden deck, and the glides stay in place. I just installed these recently and can't comment on their durability, but so far so good.
