Review: Very well packed and fast delivery - Needed more carboys as my primary fermentation was almost done. Ordered 3 of these instead of 1 3 gallon so i could do more micro brews in the future. First of all awesome job on the packing. I see so many other places that ship broken carboys due to how they are handled in shipping. It would have taken a lot of force for these to have broke the way they were packed. The 2 piece airlocks are just as good as you would get at any home brew store. Plastic so be gentle when inserting them or they can break they work just as intended. Good quality glass on the carboys. Will definitely be buying again as needed. Shipping was super fast just under 3 days once the order was placed.

Mine came with a 6.5# pre-drilled rubber bung and a single piece airlock. The bung fit perfectly and didn't pop out because I know how to properly use them. If yours is popping out, its due to either the bung or the inside of the jug being wet or both. You need to dry them off. If the bung doesn't fit, ensure it's a 6.5# (sometimes written as a 65) and not a #6 or #7. Also, you can wrap a string or rubberband around the airlock and the handle to keep the bung in place if it wants to keep popping out. Pictured is a three piece airlock I bought separately. I prefer the 3-piece for easy of cleaning. Great buy.

**Q: Can a mini auto siphon fit in the neck of the carboy?**
A: Thanks for asking. Yes, the Fermtech Mini Auto Siphon is meant for 1 gallon jugs such as this.

**Q: Does the airlock on this bottle create an airtight vacuum seal so that it can be used for storing olive oil in a dark room?**
A: You will need a solid rubber stopper, otherwise you will have to maintain the water trap to kept at the proper level.

**Q: Can this be used to make ginger ale? Obviously, I know nothing about fermenting into wine but my two bottles for ginger bugg are too small.**
A: To be honest I had to google what you were talking about. It should work fine for your fermented ginger beer. Be warned though. I was bait and switched when I ordered this bottle. What I was sent was a gallon wide mouth jar with a plastic lid drilled for an airlock(which they did include). From what I read I think your going to need something with a wide open top anyway. Good luck and maybe consider a "fermonster" jar. They are made quite well and have a built in airlock that's easy to clean.

**Q: Can I store/age wine with the poly seal lid?**
A: Yes that what its made for. After the initial mashing 4 lbs of fruit pulp in cheese cloth and adding yeast and sugar in wine bucket (kit available on Amazon), let sit loosely sealed with cork vent shown for 3 days. The next step is to age for 3 weeks in this jar, siphon off solids into a second jar pictured and store in these jars for 2 - 3 months!!!  Enjoy    Buying a kit with all wine making supplies is best bet.

I love using this for mead making. I do small batches on the regular, and they hold up great. The caps and airlocks are easy to find here on Amazon, they work for what we need, and you can get some great results out of a jug like this.
