They sold each individually if that's what U ask. U don't have to tape and that's why they required U to provide ring size so they want it to be snug fit. Also U can turn it either way to benefit your problem. I hope that I answer your question. **Q: Will this work on a thumb?** A: Might work on a thumb. The Oval 8 splints are 1 1/2" long; short thumb might not work. Why not call the manufacturer; they are very helpful. **Q: I have trigger thumb.
