Review: GREAT BUY! This watch is freakin' awesome. - Okay, so I've spent thousands of dollars on over dozens of fancy watches over the years that are a pain in the ass because you have to replace the batteries and adjust the time and dates, mostly because I thought if you want something that looked nice, you gotta pay big bucks for it. I've recently become a salesman, and the first thing they told me about my appearance, is you gotta shave the beard, and you gotta lose the fancy shiny expensive looking watches...because it made me look like I was into it for the money (that's a no-no). One of my coworkers who makes over 100k a year said he bought one of these for $40 at a place that rhymes with moles. It looks sporty and less dressy, and if I insisted on wearing a watch, go for something like this. When I saw this watch at the department store, I thought it looked pretty sweet. I knew nothing about what it did, then read the reviews on desertcart and decided for $30, who gives a crap? If I don't like it I'll send it back. I've had it for an hour, been tinkering around, and all I can say is WOW. First thing you need to do when you get this watch is adjust it to your time zone. What's awesome about this, is that it KNOWS what time zone you're in, *IF* you know how to adjust it. PRO TIP: Hold down the adjust button for five seconds and the hands will move by themselves to 12:00. Then hold adjust again for 2 seconds and the watch will AUTOMATICALLY set the digital and analog time (yes, the analog will spin clock or counter-clockwise on its in to match the digital) to your time zone on its own for you. *MIND BLOWN* So anytime I get on a plane and fly, all I have to do is repeat this sequence, not even know what time it is or the zone I'm in, and the watch resets the time for me. KICK FRIGGIN ASS! Not to mention it has a second time zone so you could know what time it is in Bangladesh (useless for me but cool nonetheless), 5 alarms, a stopwatch, military or standard time, the date, the day of the week, and probably a bunch of other features I'll learn about eventually but will probably never use. Then it's got a light for the digital that you can program for the amount of seconds you want it to light up! SCHA-WING! It's also solar which means I'll never have to pay for a battery because I'm outside in the sun for atleast an hour every day. Waterproof, lightweight, feels durable on my wrist. The glass over the watch feels cheap, but to be honest, who cares it's a work watch. And if the glass happens to break, woe is me, it's going to be another thirty bucks. Boo Hoo. The manual is a beast and after 20 minutes of reading, I gave up and went to Google, and found my answers. Why rifle through a manual with the internet on your side? When you ask a question just include Casio Module 5208 and many of my questions were answered. Never thought I'd come upon such a great watch that looks so good while being so cheap, and has so many features, for such a great price tag. 100% satisfied off the bat, everything else is icing on the cake. If you're on the fence, GET THIS WATCH you will NOT regret it!
Review: Gets My Stamp of Approval as a “Certified Moon Machine” - Changing the time and other functions: I’ve been to a watch repair shop several times in the past few years to have a battery replaced, and in two shops I was asked if I could leave it overnight. I was amused to find out why they needed 24 hours to replace a battery, which is because they are embarrassed about needing the time to find someone who knows how to set the time etc. The last guy I went to who wanted 24 hours confessed and told me he had to have his wife figure out how to set the time and whatnot. Another person who left a review on this mentioned he was able to change the functions without the manual. Even as a retired engineer I’m not quite that good. It’s nice that most the gadgets we get these days have a user manual included, but if you use it you’d better have a good magnifying glass to see that tiny print. Thank God for those all so nice pdf user manuals available online. Pros: 1- It's fabulous the way the analog hands automatically move to the correct time position after you set the digital time. 2- You can be at the North Pole or one of those places where it’s dark for six months, and the charge on your solar watch battery will last that long (actually ten months). 3- The battery never has to be replaced. 4- Displays both Digital and Analog time. 5- Glow in the dark hands and 12, 3, 6 & 9 positions. 6- Battery indicator tells you if the battery is low, middle or hi charge. 7- You don't have to have sunlight to charge - Charges well with indoor lighting. Went from Middle Charge to High Charge in a few hours with indoor lighting. So don't worry about cloudy days. 8- The low cost for such a good quality watch with so many features does not break the bank. Cons: 1- Minor – The analog glow in the dark feature isn’t very bright, but it’s okay since you can press the light button that illuminates the digital time. 2- Minor – List of city codes is limited. Many cities are not on the list. But if your city is not on the list you can pick one that’s in the same time zone as you, which could mean you may not have the automatic Daylight Savings Time, and may have to change it manually. 3- Minor - The sound of the chime or alarm is not very loud. Yes, I admit to being a gadget freak, and as such I will also admit to this being my second solar powered watch. The first was a little less money and does not have a rechargeable battery but I decided to keep it because it looks nice. This one is my favorite because the battery is rechargeable & I like all the features. It's my second Casio watch. The first one I've had for several years and I love it as well, with all it's features of Altimeter, Barometer etc. So I can definitely recommend Casio watches.

## Features

- TOUGH SOLAR — CHARGED BY SUN & INDOOR LIGHT, NO BATTERY SWAPS — Casio's solar-recharging system converts even faint light from fluorescent lamps into ample energy to achieve stable operation of various high-load functions. A battery power indicator clearly shows the battery level, and a power saving mode prolongs battery life — storing up to 10 months of charge without further light exposure. Eco-friendly, low-maintenance, and always ready.
- ANALOG-DIGITAL DUO DISPLAY WITH 6-LANGUAGE DAY INDICATOR — The sporty analog-digital combination display features a 6-language day of the week indicator supporting English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, and Italian — a practical multilingual feature for international travelers and global professionals. Analog hands show current time while the digital LCD displays date, day, and function data simultaneously.
- DUAL COUNTDOWN TIMERS — BUILT FOR INTERVAL TRAINING — Two independent countdown timers can be used during interval training that alternates between two different paces, with a measuring unit of 1 second, an input range of 00'05" to 99'55" in 1-minute and 5-second increments, and repeats settable from 1 to 10. A feature rarely found at this price point — purpose-built for athletes and coaches.
- 1/100-SECOND STOPWATCH | 5 ALARMS | 31-ZONE WORLD TIME — The 1/100-second stopwatch covers elapsed time, lap time, and split time up to 59'59.99". World time spans 48 cities, and 5 alarms make this a versatile timepiece for almost any sport outing. An hourly time signal and full auto-calendar with DST on/off round out a complete everyday feature set.
- 42MM MINERAL GLASS CASE | 33G | 100M WATER RESISTANT — With dimensions of 47.6 × 42 × 10.6mm and weighing just 33 grams, the AQ-S800W is lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear. Mineral glass protects the dial and the watch is water resistant to 10 ATM, suitable for swimming. A screw-back caseback and LED light with afterglow complete a well-built, practical package.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it possible to set the analog part independently? On my watch the analog is about 3 min ahead of the digital and i cant figure out how to set it.**
A: Yes, you can calibrate the hands, but it is a tad tricky. Hold down the Adjust button for about five seconds. Adj will appear on the screen after about three seconds, but continue to hold it down until "H.SET" appears. The LCD indicator will flash 0:00 and hands will rotate around the watch face, and both SHOULD land on the 12 o'clock position. If they do not, you can use the "Light" and "Search" buttons in this menu to adjust the hands backwards or forwards, respectively. Then press Adjust again to leave the menu.It took me a while of reading the manual several times over to figure this one out when I got this watch, as mine too had the minute hand slightly ahead of what the LCD readout said.

**Q: can we setup the side indicator to indicate the battry level ?**
A: The correct answer is: No! Because what you mean is the seconds indicator, and you can't adjust it that it shows the battery level instead.

**Q: Is it neccessary to charge with sunlight? Isn't indoor sufficient to charge the watch? I mean "A photon is a photon, right?**
A: I've seen on some watch descriptions that they claim fluorescent light will keep it charged. You can get an LED charging pad that's just for charging solar watches. Look up "cool fire". I bought one of their solar and radio atomic watches because it came with the charging pad all for around $70. I have three Solar watches and just put them in the window sill every month or so (or on the pad) because they are kept in a (mostly) dark room. Some instructions tell you not to put it in direct sunlight because it can get the watch too hot. Morning or late afternoon sun doesn't seem too hot.
.

**Q: Is this watch a micanical watch my good sir?**
A: It is a solar watch and an excellent one at that

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Attractive, comfortable, light weight watch.

Just purchased this to replace my daily wear watch that died. Seems to be a decent watch. The instructions are terrible. Had to watch a YouTube video to actually figure out how to set it up the way I wanted. Lack of an analog second hand is little annoying. If this had an analog second hand and less functions, that most people will never use, this would be a 5 starrer for sure.
