Better than I assumed it would be. Great value. Matched the customization perfectly. There was a tiny scuff on one corner and I am so pleased it doesn't even matter. That's how well done it is. They also threw in some pens which was a sweet surprise. I got the larger one I think.I'm considering ordering another as a gift.

Bought it for my daughter's rustic wedding guest sign in book. We are taking Polaroids and having everyone sign under their photo so the heft and amount of pages was perfect. She absolutely loved it!

I was so excited to find this! My husband's EN-tire family goes on a big giant family reunion trip to northern Minnesota every summer, to a big lake for a week of... family togetherness... and this is likely to be the last year for several family members. I have wanted to find a way to commemorate this trip in a meaningful way and make a little gift for my mother in law. I plan to get some pictures together (a shocking number of family members don't have cell phones to take pictures on and prefer the printed pictures anyway) and looked and looked for a reasonable way to achieve that, as I am not a "scrapbook" mom. I don't do the precious memories or whatever it's called; I am so totally overwhelmed by all of that, I can't even begin to tell you. So anyway, how cool is this and it totally fits the bill. Total "old school" photo album; this is the kind that has heavy black paper inside that you affix your photos with sticky squares and photo corners and the book itself is simply bound with two rings. The photo that comes with this shows a red background under the custom-engraved woodland scene, but that too is just a piece of heavy paper that you can swap out for another color if you want. This particular woodland scene is just perfect for my own situation (and a backwoods camping/fishing reunion) but I also think it would be nice for a variety of mountainous/woodland/outdoorsy themes. The shape and size of the black paper pages means that it could hold a 5x7 photo in the landscape orientation, or obviously smaller photos arranged other ways. I count 30 black sheets so 60 pages, if that makes sense, which is a great number of photo pages to shoot for without being totally overwhelming.I do have to say that I do not believe this cover is real wood. I think it is formica or plastic, and that this title is a little misleading. I will say that I think the formica/plastic cover looks very convincing, and for my purposes is actually better than real wood, for reasons of sturdiness and because I wanted to darken the letters a little better, and I think that if this were really truly wood, I would have had a hard time getting those letters a little darker. Let me tell you why I think it is plastic. The cut edges of the woodland scene are black, beautifully finished. But the "customizable" part, where I had our phrase engraved, wasn't quite as dark as the black woodland edges, and it was a little hard to read to my eye. I decided to color them in with a sharpie, but despite my extreme care, I made a couple little sloppy marks that needed tidying up on the flat surface of the "wood". I tentatively tried cleaning my little marks with a cotton ball soaked with alcohol, and they cleaned right up, perfectly, no stain, no mark, looks exactly correct. I don't believe I could have done that on a wooden surface, the Sharpie would have gotten into grain of real wood, and wouldn't have budged, would have stained the wood fiber. So while I was happy with that, I began to suspect the description of this being "wooden". I then smelled the covers and there isn't the slightest hint of "wood" smell, which I would expect if it had been carved or woodburned. It is finished to a high gloss, not a hint of wood grain texture on any of the surfaces, so I am pretty confident saying this isn't wood. But, like I say, for a household where there are small children and at my in-laws where this will likely be on their boat and in other wet environments, I think this very-convincing wood-like finish is much better. And it doesn't "read" as fake in any way-- I just happened to have a situation where I thought it was clear to me that this wasn't made of wood, as the title suggest. So I took one star away for that in this review, but I am not sure that it detracts materially from the function of this scrapbook!Included was a page of photo corners, which are in vivid neon colors and I likely will not use them with this scrapbook as to me, they don't really match the theme. Also included was a pretty gel pen, with layers of opaque ink in similar neon colors (also likely will not use). But fun for my kids to play with, and a kind inclusion from the seller nonetheless.This is shipping from China, so the shipping date was quite a bit further from the purchase date than I would have liked (like a month) but in reality I received it a full two weeks prior to when Amazon said I would, so I was quite happy with that. These came wrapped heavily with padding and plastic, but in a plastic envelope, which made me nervous but in fact they were in perfect condition when I opened them up.I did receive one of these scrapbooks at a discount in exchange for taking the time to write an honest review, but I did pay full price for a second one. I take my reviews serious and will only provide accurate and honest feedback; I still have to pay for the item I receive and I do test things and consider them from the same standpoint as you do. My intentions were definitely to use it for my anniversary with my boyfriend. Every year I make a scrapbook of the things we’ve done in the past year.This is a very cute book. I love the fact that they personalize the wood with whatever you want it to say (please see photos). The wood is very thick, and the material of the pages is very thick, too. This let’s me know that it can hold both stick and LIQUID glue with no trouble, and it won’t bend nor alter the pages within this scrapbook.There are also a lot of pages. There are 30 whole pages, so a total of 60 sides. That’s plenty enough for me. The only thing I don’t particularly like is that the page sizes are a little smaller than I would have liked, and the 2 rings are very annoying. It’s hard to keep control of the book. I think it would have been better if the rings were smaller and more of the rings.All in all, I love the book, and I will definitely utilize this to put all the memories of the past year of what my boyfriend and I have experienced together. I would definitely recommend this product. The personalization is what takes the cake for me! I’m sure you’ll love this item. Oh, and although it came from China... very fast shipping!
