Seagate Pipeline HD 500 GB, Internal, 5900 RPM, 3.5" (ST3500414CS) Hard Drive

It works as advertised, no issues.

I bought this to resurrect an old, noncritical Windows XP machine (ie to play old games). First of all, the drive appeared brand new in a sealed static shielding bag. The drive installed and functioned perfectly. I just installed XP on it yesterday so I can't speak to its longevity as a hard drive.However, be aware that despite being unused this device is old. My drive has a manufacturing date code from 2011 so it is likely old stock that was sold at fire sale prices to the vendor. Also be aware that there is no warranty from Seagate with this product. I looked up the part number and serial number on Seagate's web site to check the warranty coverage and it explicitly stated that this was an OEM product, NOT WARRANTED by Seagate. It suggested contacting the OEM vendor for warranty service. Good luck with that if you have problems. However, $21 seems like ridiculously inexpensive price for such a precision device to get an old computer up and running again. I'm willing to accept the inherent risk of disk drive failure, hoping to get a few years service out of this drive.

It's working very well now when I first got it and installed it it was making a squeaking sound which told me that the bearings could be bad might be in a new hard drive the bearings but being in a new hard drive the parents should be brand new the squeaking has stopped I believe the hard drive is OK now thank you for the hard drivebearings but being in a new hard drive the parents should be brand new the squeaking has stopped . Purchased this drive as new, previously purchased Two of these drives stated as re-manufactured and one failed out of warranty with little warning other than a few few hang ups accessing drive.Drive was installed around Aug 12, 2019. So far drive is still working fine.Update: January 30-2020Was using drive as the primary drive and now Drive getting slower to respond, unable to copy large blocks of data without windows crashing or copying comes to almost a slow crawl indicating hours till completion instead of the normal 35 minutes. Manufacture date from 2011, so no warranty from Seagate, and probably cost as muck as I paid for drive to ship it back.

The Hard Drive does not work anymore! It is starting to get many bad sectors, and when I run a Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology (“SMART”) Test using software like (Crystal Disk Info and Hard Disk Sentinel), the test failed, and I am getting many read and write errors. Therefore this Hard Drive can not be used anymore, because it corrupts any data I put in it. I also realized that the drive is getting so many bad sectors. Luckily, all my data is backed up. However please, don't buy this Hard Drive! It’s such a big scam, however, I am not surprised because I only bought this for $25 dollars. Please don’t buy this Hard Drive! This HDD was exactly what I was expecting. It comes sealed in an anti static bag with no other packaging besides the bubble wrap. It did come with the short quick start guide pamphlet. It’s a great price for a good HDD. I needed to keep costs low on a new build for a graduation present for my nephew. I was very pleased to find this one.

A friend's computer quit booting. He replaced it and asked me to see what I could do with the old one. Using a drive of my own I had his old one up and running in a little over a half hour. His hard drive had failed, that's all. The price on this drive didn't make him blink and so I got it for him and reinstalled Windows. The computer's running fine. Since he'd already replaced it, it's going to someone who didn't have a computer. No reason to fear it'll fail on them.

Works like a charm had no issues with it put it right in my security DVR and it worked right away I’m a happy customer. It was easy to install and I believe it was a great value for my money

Veio com defeito, reclamei, tentaram dizer que o defeito foi por mim, como tinha tudo registrado e reclamei no sistema do Amazon, resolveram devolver depois da insistência minha. Depois de devolverem me pediram algumas vezes para eu cancelar a reclamação e a avaliação, tenho os prints no whatsapp se precisar...isso não faço.Honestidade é mercadoria de troca além de não ficar transparente aos demais compradores.Resolveram meu problema mas tentaram me ignorar e empurrar o produto com defeito...tive que insistir na reclamação... infelizmente não recomendo.Segue abaixo o desenrolar:Recebemos o produto em uma caixa de papelão fino, sem plastico bolha, sem nenhuma proteção.Após alguns dias fui abrir e instalar...e tinha uma pequena marquinha em um dos cantos do HD, de boa fé, fui instalar o produto, que não funcionou.Contactei o vendedor e relatei o problema, depois de alguns dias, me acusam que o HD está com marcas, claro que está, inclusive já veio com a marca no canto do HD.Onde pode ter acontecido a marca eu não sei, mas o fato é que recebemos assim...Agora recusam a trocar...cuidado gente.Foi devolvido o valor, mas isso não apaga a venda ruim e não recomendavel.

Produto funcionando perfeitamente, entrega bem rápida porém não gostei muito da embalagem do produto achei que poderiam caprichar mais na embalagem pois não veio nenhuma proteção no caso de queda no transporte, instalei e funcionou perfeitamente.

Don't buy this hdd this is really a very bad product when I connected to pc it gives clicking sound and also this hdd is used.

Comprei o HD e veio em 2 dias, além de vir muitooo bem embalado com plástico bolha e etc, veio sem nenhum arranhão e funciona perfeitamente, estava com medo de comprar e não dar certo, mas o custo e benefício foram incríveis.Recomendo muito pois a loja até me avisou no wpp quando o item chegou e foram bem atenciosos.

Fatal compra, totalmente arrepentido.El disco empezó funcionando bien, poco más de un mes (en lo cual ya no puedo usar la garantía de devolución por 3 días más) el disco empezó a fallar, no abría los programas que tenía instalados ahí, la escritura era de 0 KB/S y resultó porque NO ES NUEVO!!! Usando CrystalDisk hasta ahora me doy cuenta que tienen 5 años de uso precio!!!! Mucho cuidado!!
