Vacuum means the air between the outer and inner layers of stainless steel has been removed to create a vacuum insulation. It blocks heat from transferring through air (conduction). To make it as easy as possible, filled this carafe with boiling hot milk so my family could fill their cups with the amount of hot milk they wanted and then they would fresh brew espresso on the new Nespresso’s machine we got. Everyone commented on how crazy hot the milk was which was very welcomed for my crazy family. Even those that went back for seconds and thirds, after 30 or 40 minutes later, the milk was still crazy hot! They all said the lattes were superb!
