Review: Nice Hat - Very good looking hat. Fit was just a tad large (1/4”? Yes splitting hairs), but some fitting strips got it snug. Wore on the golf course today in 5-10 mph winds with bright sunshine. The hat gave me the shade I needed and I could feel the breeze blowing through and cooling my head. It was packed in a box that was a bit too small so one side of the hat is slightly bent up more than the other, but only I’ll notice that. When this one is weathered and falling apart, I’ll repeat the order for another. For 20-something dollars it’s a great value.

Delivered on time and undamaged in shipping. 2017- an addenda We strayed from Dorfman, big mistake. My husband bought a Gamboa Wide (4”) brim Gambler (flat top) Panama hat. It is junk. It arrived in a plastic bag stuffed into our mailbox, no box. No stuffing to hold the shape of the head, nothing to keep / protect the brim and keep it flat. No comment on the bag suggesting that the contents need not be folded into a canolie shape. After unpacking, it sort of reverted back to its intended shape but is so thin that even a gentle breeze blows the brim up completely, making it worthless outdoors, the only place most men wear a hat. He looks silly with it looking like a halo around his head. It’s barely heavy enough to protect what’s left of his thinning hair. We have some local donkeys, just down the road, who wouldn’t be seen dead in it. The guy in the Gamboa picture must have a tiny head to make the 4” brim look that large. Hubby will go back to the much stronger Dorfman Pacific Straw Lightweight Casual Wide (3”) Brim Gambler Hat which he has used for years at one forth the price of the crappy Gamboa hat. (These are his third and fourth, and the quality has held up.) The Dorfmans we bought through desertcart are a major find and value for the money (and they came in boxes!!! Who knew?

A: The short answer is no.  The badge is affixed to a piece of vinyl that's sewn onto the hatband.  It could be cut off, but would leave a scar.

**Q: Is the brim lined so the sun doesn't shine through.**
A: No, but it’s tightly woven so the sun does not come through.

**Q: Does it fit for a 8 ¼ hat size?**
A: I'm a 7 3/8 to 7 1/2 and for me, the XL was a perfect fit.  i guess you'd need an XXL...

**Q: How does it do in rain?**
A: It has little holes in it for ventilation . It’s made of straw and should not get wet unless you want it reshaped .
