Weak magnets on the first set. Exchanged them and they worked great!
I've been tempted to return it. It just doesn't work as well as I hoped. When we follow the instructions to build a dinosaur, it falls apart. It won't hold together statically, let alone dynamically with the robot turned on.I've been tempted to return it. I compared the strength of the dinosaur magnets to our other Magformer sets. The magnets from the dinosaur set feel weaker than our previous purchases.I'm partial to the bright colors of the other sets instead of the earthy brown and green on this set, but my son doesn't seem to care.UPDATE after an exchange: We exchange with Amazon, and the second set works great. We were able to follow the instructions for the dinosaurs and they didn't fall apart statically or dynamically! I've improved it to a four star review.

Creative minds can build imaginative walking dinosaurs!
The unique shapes in this set are a great addition to our ever growing Magformer collection. The motor for the walking dino takes three AA batteries. It would have been perfect if they had made the battery pack for this rechargeable via USB, maybe in the next updated version!

I had trouble getting them to stay together and even figuring out where the pieces went like the picture
It is very difficult to make the dinos in the booklet. I had trouble getting them to stay together and even figuring out where the pieces went like the picture. My 6 yo couldn't do it without help and my 9 yo nephew was also very frustrated. This is our first exposure to Magformers so maybe we aren't use to them. I dunno. The robotics is cool, they do move very choppy and slow though. Bought it on sale for Christmas because my son wanted a walking dino. He hasn't touched it since.

Not that easy to assemble
This is a bit more complicated than other sets! Not that easy to assemble. The dinasours walk pretty slowly...Still nice toys!

Absolutely horrible. Two college educated adults can't even put this thing together.

Great product terrible instructions
My son really loves these, the reason why they don’t get 5 stars is because they have terrible instructions when it comes to creating the dinosaurs. Honestly they are absolutely horrendous, and so it makes life more complicated and then I wish I just spent the money on LEGO. Other than that my child loves playing with them but wishes he was able to figure out more of the dinosaurs on his own
