LG Nexus 5X Case, Ballistic [Jewel] Six-sided - 6ft Drop Test Certified Case Protection [Clear] Reinforced Bumper

I helped my godmother get set up with a new Nexus 5x per the $200 deal they now have with Project Fi, and got this case for her as I love Ballistic cases value with safety and quality, and she was fine with protection over more colorful options; however, as I learned when we received it, do NOT dismiss this case as just another industrial black Ballistic case, it's much cooler looking than that (although I have to qualify that I do like the military black feel of their Maxx cases myself).The first thing about this is that it is not a dual layer design like the other Ballistic cases. It is a plastic wraparound case that is a hardish rubber with some flexibility and is easily able to be wrapped around the phone in a few seconds. This harder plastic gives an absolutely awesome grip factor which will really make it difficult to drop the phone as long as you have any sort of solid grip. I honestly have never experienced a phone with 1/2 this good of a grip factor. That being said, if you do drop the case, this promises to offer excellent protection. The front corner bumpers are as large as the typical Ballistic cases, and since the camera is slightly elevated off the back of the 5X they also added corner nubs to raise the phone off the table and allow it to sit 100% flat when you place it down on a surface.The case is completely clear, but has the typical ballistic circular indentations in the back of the case to give it the sparkly look that the other reviewer noticed. That being said, I was confused by the look of the photos since there was no Nexus branding, but it is 100% clear, which is good to show off the "Nexus" image on the back of the phone, as you can see in the photos.Overall, a very solid case for Ballistic protection (which you can see from my reviews of my Nexus 6 case and previous LG G2 case, I'm quite fond of), but allows you to get it without having to deal with the dark black case. Good option for those who want a more fancy looking case with a little sparkle on the back, and or for someone who wants to "design" their own case, as you could easily put a printed out image over the back area of the phone to make your own designed case. I frankly don't understand why Ballistic cases aren't higher in the "top sellers" ranks as they frankly offer the best drop protection out there & if you are cool with a black case I'd highly suggest you look into the black dual layer case they have. I've used it for my last three phones and will for future ones as long as they keep making them.

Love!!! My first case was a wallet case. The 5x needs more protection, along with a tempered glass screen protector. I dropped my phone on the second day, whuch led to a phone replacement. I purchased this because it seemed drop proof, and the price was great compared to the original. I also did not want a black cover. I drop my phone again yesterday, but this time, there wasn't even a scratch! I'm so glad to have found a quality product. I think the phone still looks good with it on. Yes, it's a bit wide in the corners, but that provides the shock absorption clumsy professionals like myself need! I am happy with the quality of the product. I did add a tempered glass screen protector, and a stick on cardholder on the back.

Love this case--it has a great feel in my hand and the big rounded corners seem to provide excellent drop protection. The camera is just barely protected when lain on a flat surface. The only thing I didn't like were how hard the power and volume buttons were to press because they are covered. Taking a cue from a past case that had slits alongside the buttons, I took a really sharp paring knife and pressed on the side of each button (with the case down on the carpet) to create little slits. Now the covered buttons have great tactile feel and are easy to press, though it does reduce the strength on that part of the case.

Makes the phone a bit large but nothing is going to damage that phone with this thick, tough rubbery sucker protecting it. Not that I try to drop my phone or do it often, but on those rare occasions when it does happen I don't even worry because this protector is so good, particularly with the extra padding on the corners. Much better than the thinner protectors I've used in the past. Only downside is the protector fits REALLY snuggly on the phone and is very difficult to remove if you want to.

Compared to my other ballistic case, which served well for years, this one is light, thin, and relatively simple. No hard shell over soft filling; just a single rubbery layer. However, it holds well, fits well, absorbs shocks, and has the battleship corners that make so many things work.

This protector works better than I even thought it would. Have dropped my phone a few times on hard surfaces. So far, it has protected my phone.

Case is thick, corner bumpers provide SERIOUS cushion and face edges raise screen off any flat surface probably 3/16" and can see through each side with phone laying flat. Case also has a nice grip feel.Update:CON: Has a tendency with the front lip to lift on a tempered glass screen protector at the receiver, front camera portion. (BUYER BEWARE)

Case fits my 5X perfectly. Looks great on the phone. Adds just enough girth to the phone to make it easier to hold, while still able to fit in my pocket, easily. Great deal!!

Provides ample protection against falls and scratches but it's almost impossible to change the volume or take screenshots with the case on. No problems in charging or using the headphone jack with it on, though.
