Why won’t my unit turn on? Defective unit?** A: There is a green connector inside the box to connect to the "remote" on the left side of the unit. It cannot run if there is a discontinuity between the 2 pole of this remote. **Q: Does this have a built in battery protect, or do i need to add this separately?** A: Not sure what you mean. It does monitor voltage levels and you can set specific charging profiles. I had a fault with it were it was registering 12v all the time so not switching on.
