Review: The best dive light on the market - I recently purchased the OrcaTorch D710, and I couldn't be more impressed with its performance! This compact yet powerful dive light is perfect for both recreational and technical divers. Review: High Quality, Reliable Dive Torch! - As an avid traveler and scuba diver having a quality reliable dive light is extremely important. Right off the bat I appreciated the case with foam inserts to keep the light safe during packing and travel. It also keeps everything together, so it is simple to find. I was able to take this new light on a recent trip to Cozumel Mexico where I used it for a night dive and multiple Cenotes dives and let me tell you for the money you won't find a better torch. Brightness: When it comes to lights one of the most important factors is brightness. What I liked about this light was the on/off button is easy to find by feel which is important in the dark. You can hold the button down a few seconds when off to lock it during travel or push it multiple times to cycle through various levels of brightness. This allowed me to tailor the power to my needs and extend the already amazing battery life (more on that in a minute). In my attached video you can see the 3 levels (high, medium, low) and when on you can hold the button down for what I am calling "Super" power (3000 lumens!). I was able to clearly see even at a distance during my night dive and was pleased with the fine angle that reduced the blooming effect that wide angle lights can create due to the fine particulates floating everywhere in the ocean. Battery Life: Another factor of dive torches that can't be understated is the reliability and length of battery life. Many dive lights only come with a single battery, and some are not even removeable, which is difficult for multi-dive adventures. Typically, I dive 2 or 3 tanks in a day and having the ability to swap out the battery for a fully charged right on the boat was priceless. This meant I could use the light to its fullest extent without having to worry about having enough power for my next dive. Another great feature was the fact that you can charge the batteries outside of the torch and they have an led indicator light so you know when they are full. This means if I need to charge one battery, I can still take the light with another battery on a dive. Loving the flexibility. Reliability: Needless to say, I have put this torch to the test in multiple dive situations where having a light that turns on every time is vital and this light performed every, single, time. Not only that, but you know you have a good light when 3 other people on the boat get out their lights and they are the same brand or even the same exact model. Downsides: Honestly, I have not found any downsides yet. I did see another diver with a different light made by this same brand which included a green laser and thought that was very useful as well for training or even playing with fish because they follow the laser point (how cool is that?) so I'll probably be looking for that next. As a diver it never hurts to have a great light and this could work as either a primary or a backup, so I highly recommend you try it out!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High Marks for the OrcaTorch D710

As a frequent dive traveler and group leader, I've been very happy with all my OrcaTorch lights, but I am super impressed with the D710! It has become a key part of my dive kit ever since I got it and I have since given it a real workout on many international trips. It has never let me down! It has the same solid aluminum build quality that I have come to expect from OrcaTorch and features tripe O-ring seals for watertight security. I am pretty hard on gear, and this unit has survived and still looks good, but I always make sure to give it a good freshwater rinse along with my dive computers after each use. With 3 intensity settings (400, 800, & 1700 lumens) plus a 3000-lumen temporary turbo mode it is very versatile and covers everything I need in a dive torch. Although it has a very narrow beam, it works well as a primary light and is definitely a great backup! While great for exploring, it’s not really suited as a video light due to the center hotspot. I generally carry it on all my day dives to check out all those cracks, ledges and wrecks, and I must say that the runtime on a full battery charge is very impressive. The color-coded power status light is a great confidence boost before and during a dive, and the switch lock feature is a real plus. The unit comes with an extra 5000mAh battery, so you are always ready to go. As a frequent traveler, I really appreciate the fact that all I need to charge the battery is the supplied USB Type-C cable….no special charger needed! The D710 comes with a great little case that hold the light, batteries, and cable with room for a few extras (I keep my OrcaTorch SDO1PRO tank marker light in there too). Very easy to drop the whole case into my backpack and know that I have all the lighting equipment that I need! Instead of the usual black torch, I ordered mine in red to make it easy to spot and not get left behind on the bottom of the rinse tank with all the other black gear.
