LEGO Elves 41180 Ragana's Magic Shadow Castle Building Kit (1014 Piece)

We love the Elves line. I love the colors, the attention to construction so things don't just fall apart in play, the neat little surprises like trap doors, and the tiny details. My girls love building structures and then using structures for adventures - and the Elves line is perfect for that. Ragana's castle has served as both the home to a nice wizard elf as well as a evil queen. The trap door + jail has housed daring heroes as well as coveted treasures. We love the "grand entrance" of the front door, which slides the guest through the door. My girls cracked up at the chocolate bar on the couch. They love to "brew potions" in the potion area. And my 4 year old adores the little cat.The instruction booklet is clear, like all lego instructions. My 7 year old is able to build the sets entirely on her own, but she has a very long attention span. My 4 year old needs our assistance but we enjoy building it anyway :)

Basically the most awesome Lego to date for precocious 11yo girl who loves fantasy and lore. Many unique pieces you won't see elsewhere, goblets, spells, potions, etc (and a cat). A unique build with all the trap doors and movements and such. Made for a more enjoyable build than other sets. Easily her most favorite xmas gift. (I personally don't like pre fab special pieces as I like to build that instead of having it handed to me. But I am a 37 year old boy and no longer allowed to build legos) She loved it.

Awesome villain and castle build, 4 YO loves the trap door and other features!The castle is much larger than the super cramped Skyra's Mysterious Castle. It features cool mechanisms, like the trap door and dungeon with a wall that can be "kicked down," wobbly bridge, hidden compartment under the bed, and moving castle door. It's got lots of little details, too, including sushi cat food and a cauldron room with ingredients.One of the best Elves builds so far, out of the 15 sets we've built.

Fun to build, but expensive for what it is. Tough way to get a baby dragon...

A rather critical piece that was necessary to build the multistory structure, basically the roof between the 1st and 2nd levels. Its impossible to build past the 1st level without it.

My 11 yrs old grand daughter spent 4 hrs putting this set together. She plays with it all the time with the other Elves Lego sets she has. The sets are very detailed. They seem a bit expensive but if you can get them on sale that helps. Considering how much she plays with it evens out the cost. It is a great project for learning to follow directions. This age is getting harder to buy toys so the elves collection has been a perfect fit.

This was the favorite gift for our 10 year old daughter. She was able to put it together herself over the course of a few days. It's a great addition to the Leto elves series.

This kit has lots of moveable features that are interesting and help kids invent stories and use the kit after it’s assembled. An eight year old can put this together if she is a lego aficionado.
