Esky ES-VR01 3D VR Virtual Reality Headset Glasses for 3D Movies and Games

I have been always interested in these VR headsets but didn't wanna pay BIG bucks for a device I probably wouldn't use consistently. This one is afforable and does what I expected out of the device as I imagined! Its so cool. I installed an app nytvr it has movie clips you can stream or download and this headset give you a view like you are actually there. So being that this is my very first VR headset im un experienced with using these but this one was very easy to figure out!! You just easily slide your device in and you are good to go. This headset you can adjust the focus , simply move your head up, down, left and right and seriously gives you a 360° panoramic view!! Lastly its extremely comfortable to wear! If you're looking for a no-frills VR headset for games, this is probably not your headset. If you're looking for a no-frills VR headset for movies and other videos, however, this is going to be your best friend.We've had no problems making this headset work with our phones. It works with a caseless iPhone 5e, a slim cased Samsung Galaxy S6, and a slim case Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The phones snap into the phone tray then slide into the phone spot on the headset. You can easily operate the phone tray system with the headset already on your head - important for removing the phone to plan the next episode without having to take the entire headset off of your face.While I'd love to love the headset for video gaming, the headset lacks any buttons or way to interact with the phone once you've slid the phone into the headset. Once it's in there, unless you pull the entire phone back out, it's going to stay in there. This means that it's pretty hard to interact with video games to press a button.This design, however, doesn't get in the way of movies or TV shows. Start the video, and put the headset on your head, and you're ready to go. It'll stay attached to your head without any interruptions or accidental button pushes to get in the way.The headset's app comes with a couple cute-sy little games that will entertain children but will probably get old quickly for adults. You can look around at ducks in a grassy area or find yourself immersed in a fish tank to watch all of the virtual fish swim around. These games utilize head rotation, so moving around in your environment will actually allow you to see more of the virtual area as well. They're cute.The headset itself was designed for comfort as well. While it's noticeably large and bulky (like any VR headset is), the straps are extremely comfortable and don't feel too tight on the head. The headset easily adjusts for focus and PD in a manner that doesn't actually get bumped - but is still really easy to set. Excellent alternative to Cardboard.This headset is easy to use. You just have to install VR apps on your smartphone and put it on the plastic holder that comes with the headset.This plastic holder has a strap that held your phone fit.The headset comes with some rubber auto adhesive buttons to help minimize the pressure on the power button in your phone (since most models have the power button on the right side).The area around the headset is made of confortable material so it does not cause pain. The strap to hold the headset with the head can be adjusted.A larger phone can be quite difficult to put in the headset because it can present a problem with the power button. I tried a 5.5 inch phone and fit tight it turned off because the power button got press with the plastic strap. However, the rubber buttons help to evade the issue.The headset has simple but really effective lens adjusters to help you adjusting the zoom angle according o your view and the distance between your eyes.The box comes with a soft cloth to clean the lens, the headset and the rubber adhesive buttons.You can move the front part with the esky logo in order to use the smartphone camera in vr apps .Also it provide some space to accommodate headphones.The headset does not have any buttons to use with the smartphone. You are tied to use vr apps that does not require inputs or using a remote.Overall, is a really nice unit and a good and affordable option to google cardboard.I received this unit for free In order to provide an honest review,

I bought this VR unit as a replacement for the silly cardboard unit I purchased and I'm glad I did. I haven't used it a lot, but I loaned it to a friend and she loved it. I will say it is comfortable to wear and I really like that i can wear my glasses with it.The one thing I don't like is getting my Samsung inside the phone compartment, I had to move the spongy inserts (used to keep the phone snug) in different places until I found a good spot. This was so it wouldn't keep turning off the phone. Maybe I miss-read the instructions, but this was annoying. Other than that, I have happy with it.Is it comparable to the higher end units, probably not. but for the price, I have no regrets!

I've played around with this on my iPhone 6s for awhile now, it's okay. It's a cheap way of seeing if you like virtual reality headsets. I do like the adjustable lenses and straps, but it does leave a little bit more to be desired. It has cutouts so you can bring your own headphones and plug them into your phone.
