Review: Fantastic if you want to get away from heavy crockery - These are amazing..have replaced all my old crockery and now have nothing but Corelle..even in the caravan! They take up far less room in the cupboards as nice and thin..but are so strong that a couple of careless dishwash emptying resulted in no chips or breakages..added to that they are a nice dinner plate size, bowls are deceivable as look a bit small but are nice and deep so hold the same, and look great. Highly recommend!

**Q: Are these actually 8.5"? I ordered before and received smaller plates.**
A: They are 8.5" in diameter. Note that these are small plates. Not big enough for dinner. A six inch sub sandwich will completely fill the plate.

**Q: Is an oven mitt needed for removal from a microwave?**
A: not for us, but we use it mostly to reheat

**Q: are these plates lead free**
A: It is my understanding that everything made by Corning is lead free as of 2005. It is almost impossible to determine what year older corning ware/Corelle was manufactured. I had to throw all mine away and replace them

**Q: HOW Many plates come with the set**
A: 4 plates
